Hello all,

I was just thinking about something today as I was visiting the various amusement/theme park websites. I noticed that they all, including this one, are full of people regularly visiting to posts about their favorite this and that, which park or ride is better, requesting and hoping for bigger, longer, taller, faster, more inversions, etc. etc. etc.

I even looked at my own self and I asked myself these questions:

Will I ever be satisfied with the rides that we have now? How long will I be able to ride one ride before I lose interest? Why do I get a kick out of wanting to ride more record-breaking coasters year after year after year? Why do I have such a huge appetite for these types of thrills?

Does anyone else feel what I am talking about?

It is our hobby so we should feel this way. I personally don't woory about record breakers I am more interested in seeing different parks, and hopefully I will always feel this way.

I have several hobbies I like this one so well because I am left with memories. Even if I slow down as I get older it won't spoil the great days I have already had.

I hope I will never get enough. That will be a sad day when I don't get a thrill out of going to a park and riding coasters

I am not realy worried about it since I have been a fan for a long time, but I could see myself not going to quite as many as I start a family.

This is really the only hobby I have, and thereĀLs alot of parks left for me to visit, so I hope to be satisfied for the rest of my life.

Coaster05 is right, once you get a family started going to theme parks slows down. I have been lucky enough to still be able to hit a few new ones for me in the past couple of years and next week we will go to Carowinds, another new one. But I think I will be OK. My daughter loves coasters and wants to go upside down so bad, but she isn't quite tall enough yet. Her favorite ride is Big Bad Wolf. She even has made her own coasters on RCT. So hopefully I can pass my passion on to her and we will be able to go to alot of places and have some family fun.

MAnny people want to see somthign new. I don't think that in every case it needs to be taller and faster with more inversions. A good ride or coaster is a fine adition.

But as far as getign bord. I live in NEw England and only a hand full of new coaster have been instales within the last 10 years most of them are as SFNE and they removed 3 coasters form there park. I go to all the parks in NE many times in the summer including Canobie Lake Park which hasn't added a coaster in 12 years and shut down one of the four they had.

I hope I never get bored with riding coasters, I have been an enthusiast for many years and I have alot of fun and laughs with friends at parks and I hope it continues.
