Wow, this was fantastic! Second best inverted coaster Ive ever been on. I still like Raptor more due to its higher intensity and out of control feeling, , and I wish there werent trim brakes before the batwing, but it was still an excellent coaster, with excellent theming.

Montu was so much more than I hoped it would be. I thought that it would be a fun ride, and thats all. But once I rode it, I found out that it was much more. It really is amazing. It is very forceful and smooth at the same time. The theming is spectacular, they do a great job at making you feel like youre in Egypt.

I dont remember how the batwing was, but the immelman was very forceful, but it was amazing.

This is definitely the best coaster in Florida in my book.

Very fun invert with great themeimg. The pretzel loop/batwing wasnt quite as great/intense as I have heard some places or hoped, but it was still cool. Overall the ride was alot of fun and one of the best.

MOST LOVE TO MONTU!!! One of the greatest coasters in Busch Gardens Tampa. I like the Egyptian theming as well. Great job, Busch Gardens!

I wouldnt call Montu amazing by any standards, but its without a doubt a good invert. Like others have mentioned, the trim brakes before the batwing slow down the rest of the ride a bit too much, especially on the turn after the small vertical loop which seems to barely crawl over the banked turn. The weak ending really hurts the ride IMO, but the first half -- drop, loop, immelman, inline twist -- is excellent. It also gets added points for a pretty unconventional and original layout, decent theming, and that lovely dive out of the brake run.

Overall I enjoyed the ride quite a bit and rode it a few times, but it lacked the same feeling of intensity that Raptor @ CP, and I was a little dissapointed in that aspect. Nevertheless, its still a great ride and it occupies a spot in the second half of my top ten.

This is the best inverted coaster I have ever been on. All elements of the ride seem to be well spaced apart, but close enough together to stay exciting. I went to BGT for the first time on a slow day and I was fortunate enough to ride Montu 4 times. Even with the addition of SheiKra to the park, this remains the best ride at BGT.

Lost a step. Thats all that came to mind when I came back to the station after my first ride on Montu in years this weekend. The trim on the batwing and the brake run left little momentum for the ending, which ends up a bit flat as it meanders back to the station. This is not the slam-bang finish you get on rides like Raptor, Talon, or Batman. Alpengeist has a dull ending, but the beginning half is the best out there. So, that leaves Montu sort of out there in limbo as to not having the best of anything. This is still a very good ride because up to the brakes it still rips, but a ride should have a strong finish to be a 9. It was especially disappointing as Kumba felt like it was shot out of a cannon...still amazing after all these years.

I know I am going against the grain here a little, but in my opinion, Montu does not live up to expectations. Make no mistake, this ride has some serious Gs, lots of inversions and fast turns, but it just doesnt hit home for me. I say this not to say montu is a bad coaster, definitely not, just not as great as the other coasters at Busch Gardens. This ride is definitely worth riding on, but if you are anything like me, you will leave the ride wondering why with all those loops, turns and other acrobatic stunts you could get walk away unsatisfied and feinding for a little Kumba, Gwazi or Sheikra.

Since I cant give the ride a high-8, Ill give it a 9. The layout is great, with a lot of elements, and my favourite exit of a mid-course brake run ever [the dive to the right into the underground loop]. However, the brakes are what kill this ride. A set before the batwing, and the mid-courses being on strong really slowed the ride down in the second half, killing the great momentum it had. Still a great ride, with a great layout, and its still running well [even though it could use some paint], but with less brakes it could be a lot more forceful, powerful, and fun. Still a top ten for me right now, at number nine.

After I had gone on all the rides in that section with the wild mouse and that Schwarzkopf ride, it poured for about an hour. Everything was wet and closed, so I went into some sort of mummy attraction near Montu. I got into the Montu station, got near the front of the line for back seat, and waited for about two hours. They kept on making it sound like itd open soon. Finally, I realized it wouldnt open for a while, so I left. I was told it would open by the end of the day. That didnt sound right to me, so I went for another round of Sheikra (which was better than the first time).

I went back to Montu, and there was a huge group waiting for it to open. I waited about an hour, and finally rushed in front of everyone to get first ride in back. I didnt know what to expect. The ride didnt look like much, but I had heard its awesome. I sat down on the most inward seat, and it was off. There was a small dip/turn before the lift. The lift wasnt too long before it flattened out. I was immediately pulled into the drop, thinking itd slow down before the actual drop came. Wrong. It was a long, fast, and awesome first drop. It went right into a loop and an immelman to start it off. Then it went up, and spun extremely fast for the zero-G roll. CLACK!!!! The train hit a trim, which slowed it down a /lot/. It hung at the top of the batwing, and SMASH! I didnt expect that because it was so slow. The second flip of the batwing went right up to the mid-course brake run.

The drop off the mid-course brake run was done in the same style as the first drop. It was surprisingly awesome for its height. It went right into an extremely tight loop that seemed like it was made to crush peoples bones. It slowly went around all over the place, before a very fast corkscrew came up and went right into the brakes.

Montu is truly an awesome ride. It was worth the long wait I had for it. It feels like it could have a bit more in it, though. The first loop and immelman felt like a waste. They just werent as awesome as the rest of the ride. This is a must-ride.
