I was completely underwhelmed on my first couple of rides. I was expecting a ride similar to Boulder Dash (great air, great use of terrain, speed), but it just didnt seem out of control and was too short. I rode The Raven in every car, but I just didnt appreciate it until the 3rd or 4th ride. The last ride of the day was in the dark as the park was closing in the back row. Now that ride was a ten, but overall I cant put it in the class with the other 10s I have given out.

Times ridden: 2 ~ Ride experience: 10 ~ Layout: 8 ~ Thrill factor: 10 ~ Airtime: 10 ~ Landscaping: 10 ~ Evaluation: Although a quite short ride, Raven packs a mean punch. Located in a highly wooded area of the park, the train soars through the woods at great speeds. The ride features a helix over the lake and a tunnel at the bottom of the first hill. For the best experience, Id recommend the very last row on the train, as its airtime heaven. After a ride on the Raven, you wont be screaming never more, but instead more, more, more!

Great woody but still its not as good as the Legend. It could be a little longer but i love the setting in the woods and going right along the lake. Its pretty rough though but that probably because of its aging. The Raven a definite must ride at HW! It was even my very first coaster!

I was impressed with the good rush it had coming through the second half. I wish it were larger and longer, havent rode the legend yet. I dont live that far from this park and wish they could build more coasters, perhaps some steel but must not be in the budget. The beast is still the ride to beat.

A ride that lives up the hype. The first drop is great, and the one hill in the middle of the ride gives ejector air time. I only wish they ran two trains on it.

As I waited in the parking lot for Holiday World for 2 hours before the park opened (our trip planner forgot about the time change), I stared up at the Raven and the sign on it calling it the best wood coaster on the planet. I was hyped up, but the ride itself was a bit of a letdown. Not nearly as big of a letdown as X was, but a little bit. Just a let down because instead of #1, its my #4. Still not that bad. Only one real good airtime hill (#5), but tons of speed through the woods after that drop. Second half is much better than the first IMO. It also lost a point for being only 90 seconds long, but of course, I am used to the 5 minute rides of Beast.

Raven was one of those coasters that required me to ride twice to truly appreciate its amazing qualities. Seeing as Raven is often called the very best wooden coaster on the planet, I had quite a bit of anticipation for this ride. However, after the first ride, I was very let down by the extremely short ride I had just experienced but I decided to give it another shot. This is when I experienced the great ride that Raven is. The first half of the ride is pretty exciting but probably only deserves a 7 out of 10. After this however, Raven gets ornery and goes completely ballistic. From the midcourse drop (which features intense airtime in the back seat) to the end of the ride probably deserves something like 13 out of 10! It is complete mayhem as Ravens red trains dart through the woods making you truly feel as if you are a Raven chasing after food. This ride is very good during the day but you must find some way to ride this ride in the dark (lets keep our fingers crossed that some park-sponsored enthusiast event will someday make its triumphant return to Holiday World) as this ride becomes arguably the most exciting coaster ever when ridden in the dark.

I love the speed of this and the drop into the tunnel. The back is byfar the best. It speeds by the lake and then up to the number one air time experience, located in the middle of a ride. Last summer a woman stood up at this part with her seat belt undone and fell out, killed instantly. It wasnt the Ravens fault but Im sorry it had to happen to Holiday World. Still a favorite.

Sure this ride is short, but the ride you get is fantastic. The terrain is awesome and the curve by the lake is a one of a kind. I think too many people want to cut it down because its not as good as ther favorite ride. Its not my favorite wood (phoenix, beast) but it is still great. Its definately somethin Im still craven. APPEARANCE-9 You can see almost none of it and I still like the house/station that it is in. The metal gate at the beginning of the que is reaaly nice also. CAPACITY-9 With two trains there is very little wait. RIDE QUALITY-8 More varied then Legend, but the length does affect my rating nowadays. FUN-9 I got a weird mix of rides from very fun to sort of weak. Also much better at night. RERIDE-10 See reride comments on their other coasters for details. OVERALL-45 AVG-9.0 Still just a little better than Legend, but not quite the greatness I used to give them.

This was a very fast coaster.I realy liked the airtime, but was slightly disapointed by its small size.
