Question: How do you succesfully turn a comic into a Dark Ride? Answer: YOU CANT! And Kennywood has demonstrated that for us, turning a once classic and charming dark ride into a disgrace for the park. Inside it, it is basically a giant diorama filled with product endorsement. Every so often, one or two 3D objects do some monotonous movement repeadetly, such as a giant dog moving its mouth. In addition, it is innacurate. At one part, it portrays Garfield as liking to eat mice, when in the comics he actually protested doing so. The annoying music gave me a headache, and the "timed" narations could be heard throughout the ride repetitive times. But worst of all, they took away the charm and simplicity of the Old Mill, also shared by the Gold Rusher. Its hard to explain, but a dark ride needs a classic touch, without flourescent lights. Of course, I am very opinionated. There are probably multitudes who love big shiny lights and silly cardboard cut-outs of John Arbuckle and Odie. Please respond and let me hear your opinions. EDIT: My friggin god, it makes me even more mad now that Gold Rusher is gone while this one remains! Id give it a 0 if I could.
