Review of Primeval Whirl @ Animal Kingdom

Like previous reviewers have mentioned, Primeval Whirl and its surrounding area seem out of place at a Disney park. It almost reminds me of a fair ground. They tried to give this ride some sort of time machine theme, but it was pretty pathetic. The ride itself is my favorite wild mouse compared to all the others I’ve been on, which isnt saying much. I dont remember the layout being anything too unique, but the spinning is what makes it better than the others. It is not worth the long wait though.

They are trying to theme to the 50s roadside attractions, hence all the cheesy signs.

I dont understand why Disney would deprive guests of their world-famous theming for a quick installment such as this. I understand that at the time AK was in pretty pathetic shape as compared to the rest of their parks (and still is w/o Everest), but this was definately not the answer. A 50s look in the dinosaur section of Animal Kingdom? What were they thinking? Some stupid signs that carry no meaning and a ride just thrown in to try and provide some cheap thrills just doesnt cut it in Orlando. Although I realize that a large-scale ride like Everest takes multiple years to plan, I feel that the area of the park takes away from Disneys prestige. Youd think that youre in an average chain park next to this wild mouse except for the fact that Dinosaur is right next to it. I guess theyre kind of stuck with the rides now, but I would not take too long to remove this and the triceratops ride to keep the park "Disney-esque."
