Spalsh Mountain is the best ride in the park.and Its the best log flume around in my book. The big drop is supposed to be the steepest in the world according to Disney but I like the one at Dudley do rights Ripsaw falls better.Anyway Spalsh Montain is the best family ride there is.The themeing in music is awesome.Dont miss Splash montain when your at Magic Kingdom. No Disney Trip is complete without riding it.

although technically not a log fume ride... jurassic park (at IOA) is a lot steeper

For starters welcom its good to see you postign on the site.

Splash mountain is considered a flum. it may have a double wive boat but its still a flume. JP is specificly based on a Shoot-the-shoot ride. if you check youll likly find the drops on JP and SM to be about the same.

hmm... well... if u say so... but if you look at JP before actually going down you notice tracks and on the drop (during the cactual drop) you are never actually on water... you are on a track similar to those found on rollercoaster... so i was told by a family member tht works there.

Pay verry close atention to every flum and chut ride out there. you will notice a track run for the drop and the splash area. this is needed to keep the boat your in in th ewater. if it wasnt there it would jump up and back down into the water.

granted...BUT TECHNICALLY plash mountains arent a track... if u look at it all it is holding it on the side while JP are actual tracks

Thats do to the manufacturer. look at a typical Arrow flum. then look at a Hopkins flum(splash moutain, policy(canobie lake), etc. they are a littel deforent. they can use a track to controle the ride without it being a coaster. but its stil bassed and considered a Shoot-the -chute. and the ride itself a dark ride.

good point

Youll find that even some dark ride cars use a coaster like track to suport them on drops and hills. its amavign how this technoligy has been tranformed for many rides.

hey...if it gets the trick done then y not?

Exactly its really the safist set up for any sort of drop.
cordovad6 on 3/14/2005 7:28:25 AM said:
but one question though... would the experience of the ride differ a lot ?

If you didnt have the track sistem the drop woudl be the same but when you hit the water the boat woudl bounce up and down. basicly liek you were doign a pop-a-wheely.
