Review of Rolling Thunder @ Six Flags Great Adventure

Look past the fact that it is a racing coaster that doesnt race. Despite needing some TLC (slow lift hill, screachign tracks) this is still a good coaster... or two good coasters I should say since the tracks are not identical. Since the first time I rode this in 2004, they did some work to brighten up the station and that entire area of the park with the addition of El Toro. (come to think of it, I think the entire park has been enhanced and put into good shape over these past few years)

You mean the runaway mine train? No, not this time.
Rode it last time I was there... in June of 1978.
I was going to ride itn this time, but it was broken down and stuck on the lift.

When I was there (Aug 17, 2004) the following coasters were open: Great American Scream Machine, one side of Rolling Thunder, Medusa, Skull Mountain, Batman The Ride, one side of Batman and Robbin Chiller and Superman Ultimate Flilght.
Closed were one side of Rolling Thunder, Viper, one side of Batman and Robin Chiller, and Nitro. By 11am lines for Superman, BRChiller, and Batman The Ride were completely filled and over flowing their queue areas and into the midways. I decided not to wait. I checked in to the Lo-Queue, Q-bot, FAst Pass or what ever SF calls it, but by that time I was so disgusted with the state of the park, I decided not to part with any more of my money, so I left and headed toward the shore to catch a few of the little coasters in Ocean City. Some of those Closed coasters at Great Adventure may have opened later, but I did not feel like sticking around any longer to see.
