Review of Superman: Ultimate Flight @ Six Flags Great Adventure

Not the greatest coaster. I LOVE the "flying" feature and its so funny when you hear everyone scream as the seats tilt forward. The pretzel loop was cool, but technically I wouldnt consider that this ride has any inversions because all they do is flip you on your back, and youre not upside down. Other than that it was pretty boring. I deducted points because the line was too long, the ride didnt have many exciting elements and there was a big wad of spit on my sisters seat.

Yeah, Im also going to agree with that. Especially the line, its horrendous!

Im sorry, I left the wad of spit on the seat back on closing day. jk!

LOL! I thought I saw you slobbering on the seats that day...

Well the Pretzel loop does give you on complete inversion (on the way down), but I agree with you on the rest of the inversions.

I consider inversions to be anything that turns the car 180 degrees and then back from the original traveling position. In the case of Superman here, its original position is inverted, and through the coruse of the track it turns 180 degrees from that position twice, so it has two inversions. Get what I mean?
m311ton on 4/12/2004 4:08:52 PM said:
Yeah but the ride still sucks

My definition of an inversion is anything that turns the car upside down, meaning head facing the ground and feet facing the sky, and back to original riding position. According to that you could say Superman has one inversion, because of what Swimace said, but the in-line twist is not an inversion by my standards.
Swimace on 4/12/2004 8:12:48 PM said:
Yeah, the whole inversion standards for flyers isnt really crealy defined as with other coasters.
larrygator on 4/12/2004 10:42:03 PM said:
I wouldnt say it sux because the sensation on the pretzel loop and through the in-line twist are both intense and unique
Cyclonic on 4/14/2004 7:52:09 PM said:
The pretzel is very cool, but the in-line didnt really do anything for me. I think the problem with the ride is what is between those two elements, which is basically just a few swoops back and forth.
m311ton on 4/14/2004 9:23:00 PM said:
Yeah I completely agree. While those parts are awesome, there is just nothing else to the ride. Thats what makes the ride so lame.
Swimace on 4/15/2004 10:00:18 PM said:
maybe they should make a flyer w/ a double pretzel loop
m311ton on 4/15/2004 10:08:13 PM said:
That still wouldnt change the fact that the rest of the ride isnt any more exciting than a stroll in the park on a cold rainy day.

Hahaha. I think if they had a least really themed it, built like a city scape around it so you feel as if you are flying around buildings, or built it in the woods like they had originally planned, it would have turned out to be an incredible ride. As it stands now, I feel the Vekomas are better rides simply because they do so much more.
Swimace on 4/16/2004 7:44:18 AM said:
well, the sfog one has a better setting
larrygator on 4/16/2004 4:40:08 PM said:
SFOG setting is better but not by much
m311ton on 4/16/2004 6:59:17 PM said:
That would be pretty tight if they built a whole mini city around the ride
Swimace on 4/17/2004 1:18:07 PM said:
Well, there have been rumors about a custom flyer for SFFT that will go in the Jokerss old spot. I cant think of a better place for a flyer than along the side of a cliff
