It was fun...sort of. But hey it always has a short line...who can beat that!

It never has line! You can just stay on it and never get off!

Actually, when I visited the park in February, there was about a 20 minute line as soon as the park opened. Hopefully, with Mission: Space opening the lines will become even shorter. Actually, nevermind that because the ride is being torn down anyway

Im not quite sure where I heard it originally, but wdwmagic.com/ has said over and over that the ride will be torn down and replaced with a roller coaster or something. I believe I also saw something about it at CoasterBuzz.

Now your talking about Space Ship Earth being torn down right? A coaster in the giant "golf ball" would be awesome!!!

Eww...are you TRYING to kill the purpose of Epcot? A coaster in the ball is a rumor and will NEVER happen. I dont care what rumors uve heard. That will never happen, nor should it, so dont expect it

Yes...and no I think that would be lame. This is "Walts" park. If they EVER put a coaster in the ball, they would discrace Walt forever....you simply cant do that...

While a coaster would be cool, i do agree with Sephiroth7. I do think the ride could use some new special effects though...

if you want a coaster in a call convine you r local park to get a mack euromirr.

they should just make a new ride in the same genre as the old one. enough of the crappy animatronics and all that, update it, maybe make it 3D, or something like that. it could be so much better. make it like a spiderman.....that would be sweet

Yea thats the problem with technology...it changes so rapidly, its very hard to keep updating rides. I think as time goes on theyll do scheduled maitenence to keep it fresh, but in order to keep up with the right technology, it would have to change every year and that would cost a lot of $$$

The ride breaks down a lot, and I think a rehab is definitely needed. This ride needs to be updated much more than The Great Movie Ride does, and they just got finished updating that.

Demon they cant do that. the cars dont have the power to cary the cars though the dome. they hcan only handle flat ground. The 3D idea is concreat but they couldnt use the ride system also it would case then to need a hight lemit. they jsut needs to update is a littel new animatronics and such.

im not sure what you mean eagle....it doesnt have to be fast and all that like spiderman.....just with 3D effects that are as good. they can use the same slow cars and track....but just make a themed ride with story and all that, and giant 3D screens.

The cars cant handle the high angles the ride trac uses. they cant do the sim cars. but they can do the 3D effects.

yeah, im only looking for the 3D effects. they dont have to spin around and bounce and move and all that. just give me a good 3D show

it could be done thing is getign things brightened so that you can see the actall sets.

thats true....but id think that lighting would be a rather minor little fix up.

well everythign woudl needto be brighter animatronics effetcs evertything.

yeah, but they wouldnt really need animatrionics ifthey reverted to all 3D stuff. they could empty all the scenes out and just put up 3D screens and all that. it could actually still be pretty dark inside.

Thats over board. the consumign seans is what makes this ride work. the animatromics ae faremor realistic then 3D.

have you been on spiderman yet? if not, i dont think you realize quite how far 3D has come. Its lifelike and amazing. It would be much cooler and a much better ride than with animatronics

No I havnt they were buildign IOA last tiem I was it florida. think is their is still in that ride s case a cartoonish look. and you really cant have that.

not at all, that ride is as lifelike as you can get. the graphics are amazing, and the characters jump right off the screen. its amazing what kind of technology they have now for those types of rides

Its 3D of corse they jump off the screen! maybe it loose allot of reagulare to but I see Highly animated characters for this ride on the specials. their is a huge deferance of actuall sets and humer vidio taped and CGI. you can stillsee a deferance no mater how good it is.

true, but they dont have to use computer animated characters for this ride. they could film live action shots for this ride. i never said it had to be computer animated. i just said that it should be 3D

yea that stinks they are tearing it down...its a Disney classic.

well, it hasnt been officially announced that its coming down, and the ball might not go, they might just put a new ride in it.

The ball will stay. the Gemini set up cales for a new rides system with the smae seans. bu tthe nw ride system is suposed to be more intence. over kill if you ask me.

yeah, id say so. if they are going to take the time to remake the system.....why not remake the entire ride?

Changing the story is bad in my opinion. the story adn set up is the menign of EPCOT. removign it and turnign it into soem thrill ride more distroys the setup of EPCOT and twhat its about.

no, not a thrill ride. keep the story and all that. just make it 3D or something like that. just make it the same story at the cutting edge of technology
