Great idea and a must have ride. Sure the actual ride isnt all that special, the drop at the end is decent. However, its a great way to cool down when you cant stand the heat, if you can find a short line that is.

at least you didnt give it a ten like everyone else, but if you said the ride isnt special and the drop was decent, then why a nine?
MovieCoast on 3/14/2003 12:35:33 PM said:
I thought that last drop was decent, but the ones in the dark where better.
DemonRules on 3/14/2003 1:58:51 PM said:
yeah, i just dont understand the fascination with this ride. the drop is okay, i find the theming annoying, and the wait is usually an hour or more.
mrceagle on 3/14/2003 11:00:50 PM said:
i highly doby the line for Dudly Dooright is any shorter. the story man not be anoying if you know the story. The last drop is larger then most and the one in side are fun as well.

SM gets such high ratings cuz of its unbeatable themein. 10X that of Ripsaw and just for the record i waited 2 hrs for Ripsaw..never have i waited that long for SM. the themeing is great. its intricate with everything to look at. good story and i like the drop.
DemonRules on 3/14/2003 11:46:00 PM said:
but when you wait in line for dudley, you get to listen to the moose and the beaver (not sure if its rocky and bullwinkle) and they are really funny and take your mind off of how long the line is.
mrceagle on 3/15/2003 1:27:53 AM said:
For starters Rocky is a FLying Skurl. In line for SM it the trees out side you hear Chip and Dale, and their is the frog inside. their are also Bio type signs to read and learn about the characters.
RAM20884 on 3/15/2003 2:52:15 PM said:
well in line for dudley you dont see the beaver thingy for a while..out line startred way outside. i dont like ripsaws queue. it felt too dark and too dreary. i like SMs. its kinda dark too but i like goin like underground seein tree roots and everything.
DemonRules on 3/15/2003 3:45:05 PM said:
okay, i agree that DDR line is kinda dark, but are we now gonna argue over whose que line is better?
RAM20884 on 3/15/2003 6:07:25 PM said:
lol u could. its possible. i just felt like dudleys was bad. im kinda claustrophobic and i think it set somethin off. n e way, i personally dont think dudley is very good. it has airtime and its part coaster which ill give it credit for but its themeing sux. the building looks cool but both themeing and looks is destroyed by SM.
DemonRules on 3/15/2003 10:27:37 PM said:
i think the theming aint half bad. i mean, its everywhere, it tells a story, and it is somewhat humorous. i like it
RAM20884 on 3/15/2003 10:29:29 PM said:
i just remember bad animatronics in small scenes. the first thing u see w/ him ridin the horse just looks retarded. it was poor themeing that was aimelessley scattered about the ride. u have to admit SMs themeing crushes it.
mrceagle on 3/15/2003 10:33:52 PM said:
I need to ride this flume. that way I can post an opinion about things like this. but a que is important. a borign or bad que can subtract from the ride.
DemonRules on 3/15/2003 10:36:21 PM said:
you talking about needing to ride DDR, eagle?
mrceagle on 3/15/2003 10:44:49 PM said:
yes. the last time I went to florida they wre only half done buildign Hulk. they didnt open IOA tillthe nxt year. I havnt had th opertunity to go back yet. I would liek to se everything in Uneversal and IOA.
RAM20884 on 3/15/2003 10:53:20 PM said:
IOA is amazing. DDR is a good ride but its themeing really does suck. the queue is boring and you go into this mine type thing where its really really dark and i got claustrophobic. then u go into another unthemed room, at least its a little brighter. then u go on a good ride with poor themeing. bad animatronics and they are scant.
DemonRules on 3/16/2003 11:30:28 AM said:
you really need to get to IOA!!! it is my favorite park by far, and is probably one of the best in the country. it has abundant theming, on the rides, and in the streets. the coasters are top notch, the water rides are great, and they have the best motion simulator in the world! if you think about taking a trip anywhere this summer, make it to IOA! you wont be disappointed.
RAM20884 on 3/16/2003 1:58:41 PM said:
I agree. Spiderman. is amazing and the Hulk is a great coaster (thanks to that launch into the zero g roll)..DD is fun and wait to get the front seat, u wont regret it. JP is fun...the only sucky ride there i think is dr dooms fearfall.

Living in NE I have riden many great flumes. Policy at Canobie, Thunder falls at Funtown, STory land, Satas village, all this flumes are very elabrat and well themed. so this rides have alot to stand up to. I do want to get to IOA. its a mater of savig up the money. Im hightly in dept from school and to family I have borowed money from.
RAM20884 on 3/16/2003 2:32:02 PM said:
Canobies flume isnt themed is it? JP will live up to it. i still say the best small park log flume was the one at Rocky Point. was the best flume in NE
mrceagle on 3/16/2003 2:43:12 PM said:
never got to rocky point the only thing I have from their is a suviner bottle. Canobies Policy pond Mill pond Log Flum is a standard themeing. the Station is a receation of a local saw mill and they used the wood removed from the site. they has many tres in the area. and cut down logs. they also have the smal tunnel. so yes and no to it being themed. its still more then a thousand feet long and has two good drops.

sounds good. better than boston tea party?
mrceagle on 3/16/2003 3:01:55 PM said:
they built an intier 2 acre boston area. with one gift shop and one restorant. they have rop fences that wre common tothe area. they also have wood sopports not mettle to suport the ride. they used sand around the ride and planted apropriate foliage.

I gave this a nine (took me a few days to reply DemonRules sorry) was that I had heard that the ride had no good aspects for anyone over ten years old. I was eighteen and enjoyed the ride. I also had rode Pirates of the Carribean earlier in the day and had expected kind of the same thing with a drop, but the story at least kept me awake and I thought the younger crowd would enjoy this ride.
RAM20884 on 3/16/2003 4:20:05 PM said:
i think everyone enjoys this ride. it never gets old. and mrceagle, i was asking if u thought policy was better than boston tea party.
DemonRules on 3/16/2003 4:40:57 PM said:
fair enough agsmith. i do enjoy the ride, but again, i reiterate the fact that too many people rate this ride by its theming alone. you are not one of them, so i give you credit for that.
mrceagle on 3/16/2003 11:03:01 PM said:
Splash has great theming and a great lond flume. it has a nube rof drops and one fantastice drop at the end.

RAM, for geting cooled down BTP is definalty the better choice but I do injoy the flume a little better. much longer and the big drop is just as thrilling.
