Im usually a steel person but this ride is something you have to do at SFNE. I usually do it between 2 and 5 times. This coaster gives u air time and has a great first drop (unfortunately i never got to ride it with its old drop but my cousin told me it was amazing. Any one know why the reduced the drop?). The only ba comments i ever hear is that its too rough. This ride beats the Sh*t outa you, however, i just think it makes it more entning

The morons at SF switched from Morgan trains to PTCs, well to make a long story short. the PTC were riping both the coaster and the ride apart so isteed of just paying for teh up g\keep or gettig good trains/returning to the Morgans. they changed the drop with Imn my apinion is notheig special. since then they have adding for more trims to the ride and turned it to sh*t. Honistly I cant see how you rated this raped coaster better then BatmanK.

It may be raped, but its still better than Batman, IMO. Eh, I was allways a huge Cyclone junkie. The out of control unexpected strikes it gives you..awesome rush. But yeah time to get Millenium Flyers on there pronto. The PTC trains are just not right, I still dont know why Boulder Dash doesnt have them..That would be great.

I think CCI had a deal with PTC for the trains. almost every CCI has PTC trains on it. I agree the ride would be even better with MIL flyers.

There was also a rumour that the reprofiling had nothing to do with stress being put on the coaster by the trains, Cyclone had PTCs originally after all. Instead, the story goes that SF altered the drop to make the coaster more appealing to the general public, not just coaster lovers. If that really is the case then its even more sad. Once again lowest common denominator wins out.

i have to edit this. i said i never rode it with the original drop but i just remembered i did. right before it was SF (after mind eraser was put in). i dont remember it tho. dammit.

That is a dumb excuse. the origanal drop was fantastic. I new many people that were General Public and they liked the origanal drop because it was origanal. this new one isnt. to bad RAM it was fantastic.

whats a dumb excuse? i too hear a lot of complaints bout the change. i wish i could remember it. i had a hell of a time gettin on. long story.

It did start with PTCs they removed then do to maintanicne problems. they then went with Morgans. SF then put PTCs on again and had nothing but problems. but insted of switching trains they changed the coaster. this is one of the reasons I dont like SF.

I just dont get the mentality of the "powers that be". If the coaster costs a lot to maintain, spend the friggin money. Its a MAJOR attraction. If you change it because you want it more "family" oriented, what the hell, you already have Thunderbolt for that crowd.

exactly. i really dont remeber cyclone with the original drop but its great with its drop now so the old one musta been killer. i wish i could go back in time and ride it back in the day.

It wasnt just the drop. It was the hole ride before thr trims were added this past summer. The part of Cyclone that dove into its own superstructure not only maintained amazing speed, but the "fake out" turn and last bunny hop and turn around to the breaks were taken at that same outrageous speed. But now its all over for her, and we are the ones whove lost out. Riverside Cyclone was a TRUE classic, love her or hate her, and the current management should be damned for what theyve done to her. Imagine some asshole buying the Empire State Building, then removing the top twenty stories and claiming its better. Its the same kind of insult to our intelligence.

well tell them or dont go. the only way they will change poor maintenence is if we show we wont accept it.
