A pretty good cycle, but they are a bit slow. The exterior certainly pops!
It's a great ride with a long cycle. The music is always very loud but it can very styles drastically. The operators must be choosing the music.
Pretty weak himalaya. This one looked to be in great shape and it had a long cycle that traveled both forwards and backwards. However, the ride wasnt all that good as its top speed was relatively slow, there was minimal swinging, and the ride was very jerky.
okay well i live rihgt near "funtown" im a mainer i live in saco and i have a seasons pass. u guys give this ride okay reviews but if u want to know what people of saco think of the rides id listten to me. Well personaly i have been to many many theme parks and i really enjoied this ride. and what kdis think of it ais that it is really good
The Thunderbolt at Funtown U.S.A., is a nice himalaya. Funtowns Thunderbolt, is located in the back of the park, nestled next to trees. Unlike most himalayas I have been on, this Thunderbolt had many trees that came close to the ride. The lights at night, are beautiful, as they light up the area. Like all Thunderbolts, this one has sleek, shiny blue and red cars, with a white Thunderbolt on the side. The front and back of the cars are white, while the bottom is either shiny red or blue. On the back of the car, it says "Funtowns Thunderbolt". Also, this is always a walk-on because of the high capacity. Funtown also loads this ride quickly. Like most Chance himalayas, the cars car be cramped, if two adults ride. Also, the headrests, are too small, and have holes that are too large, so, you cant rest your head on them comfortably. During the ride, youre slammed back into the head-rest, repeatedly, and you cant hold it there, because it hurts. Another thing is, that Funtown has selected, a unique choice of music. They have played pop rock music, suitable for the entire family. Last time I rode it, they played Sk8er Boi, by Avril Levine. Funtowns Thunderbolt, gradually gained speed, traveling forwards, and then, you reach full speed. This Thunderbolts top speed, isnt as fast as some Thunderbolts and sadly there was a little headbanging when I rode it (rehabed in 2006 getting rid of headbanging). Next, you slow down, and repeat the ride in reverse. Again, you travel slowly, and then gain speed, until your at top speed. Then, you slow down, ending the ride. Overall, Funtowns Thunderbolt, is a nice ride. I highly recommend this ride to anyone who enjoys himalayas.
The expierence of this ride greatly depends on who is running it and the attitude of the other people on it. Ive been opping this ride and had everyone in it screaming and clapping and having a great time, and moments later had a totally silent group of people who did nothing but complain about the music. I guess that goes for any ride... its not just the ride, its the people on it who really make it a unique experience.
This is a pretty fun ride. Its well placed in the layout of the park... on the big ride end. Goes both directions at a pretty good speed. The opperator has control of the music making it a different experience each time you go. Well maintained mechanically, but with so many lights.. often many are out.
i didnt lick it but i didnt hate it
They run this one forward and backward. Its the only thing that saves this one. The cars are uncomfortable. The ride moves slowly but at least they contrast it with a normally good soundtrack.
