Review of Hang Time @ Dorney Park
1 Rating Posted by: Horizons12 on 3/17/2004 11:34:00 PM
This is the best run "Top Spin" ride I have ever been on. Its fairly long and it flips you many, many times. Compared to Twister at SFGAdv, Hang Time definately comes out on top. Twister flips you only twice or so, Hang Time flips about 6 or 7 times. If your going to have a ride like this, at least run it to its fullest like Dorney does. Plus the color scheme is cool, as opposed to Twister with its...well...wood color. ***EDIT*** I rode this again on 7/25/06 and the new ride program sucks. You dont even complete one flip now which completely kills a real Top Spin experience. The new program uses the fountains a lot though and anyone 5 seats away from the ends will get soaked. Still...the ride goes from a 9 to a 7.

I like these top spin rides. I went on Twister at SFNE and they didnt flip us that much. I still liked it, though. 6 to 7 times sounds great!!

This is by far better than what Twister was. Dorney knows how to run its major flat rides and this is a perfect example. You get an awesome cycle and an amazing ride. I also find it a lot more comfortable than the one that Great Adventure had. That thing was the "Pelvic Polverizer".

I dont mind the extremely tight restraints on Top Spins, I feel more at ease to not hold on or not keep my feet flat on he floor and just sort of dangle while the gondola slowly edges downward. I wouldnt dare do that on a Vekoma Waikiki Wave Super Flip though! Their harnesses are almost too loose.

I dont really find the Top Spin at Dorney to be overly tight, it is just really secure. Twister at Great Adventure was just overbaringly tight.

They both have the same restraint system, and the restraints cannot be ajusted. It is all in your head.

Yeah, all Top Spins have the same restraint system.
