The first time I rode this amazing ride I fell in love. It has intense and the action was now stop. Though their was a slight problem it was ruff. Even at its early age it was ruff and would only get worse. The biggest problem was that the designer Ron Toomer was a designer for B&M. We all now that this coasters can do the unbelievable. Busch decided to go to arrow do to the fact their previous two coasters were mad by them and they seemed to work out. But, Arrow hadn~{!/~}t made a coaster like this before. The batwing and cut back were revolutionary and they weren~{!/~}t able to pull it off. New trains needed to be designed just to smooth it out. And after a few years the ride was modified and it fist of two corkscrews were removed. Alas as it grow older the ride got wore and wore and was shut down. After trying to sell the ride they decided to remove it. Ahh, what is to be with the large area of land the ride now poses is, Could this be were the supposed wooden coaster might go. Will just have to watch and hope for the best.

As I said time and time again...

Because Drachen Fire was SBNO for a few years, it became a legend. Had it remained open, people would be complaining how rough it was and saying that it should be replaced.

Hated it....Hated it....Hated it. The heads of innocent riders everywhere do not know the service they did by shutting this piece of junk down.

I used to work on this blue steel beauty. Since I did, excuse me if I am a little baised. I did love it from day one. I rode it the very first day it was open. I waited about 3 hours but had no problem with that after I rode it. It was so unique. Elements I had never seen before. It was always rough, but I think that was just her personality. People did complain alot when I worked there. I saw women get their earrings ripped out. I have cleaned up alot of puke too. Busch Gardens is very interested in making people happy so once the complaints built up they had no other choice. I will miss it though.

The first time I went to Busch Gardens this had just opened and everyone thought it was the best thing. as did I. Well, the next time I managed to make it back there was about 7 years later and it was SBNO. I was upset, but I thought Alpengeist and Apollo's Chariot more than made up for it.

Just returned from BGW today took the train around the entire park to see former location of Drachen Fire. It was still standing in 99. A rough coaster but loads of fun. Had the opportunity to ride in 95 and 97. It is missed.

It is missed, very much so. I credit Drachen Fire for starting my coaster crave - I fell in love with it before I was even tall enough to ride it. It's still probably the most visually impressive roller coaster. It was my first mega looper and it had also been the tallest, longest and fastest roller coaster I'd been on. I left totally buzzing after my ride in '95 - and I didn't stop buzzing until after we left the park. The only rough part I remember was the final corkscrew, and that wasn't even that bad.

BTW mrceagle, Ron Toomer is not with B&M, and B&M had nothing to do with the design of Drachen Fire.
