Beast Coaster Accident
Submitted By: ThmPrkCrtc on 10/16/2001 4:15:00 PM
Twenty park goers were taken to the hospital after "The Beast" coaster failed to stop hitting another coaster in the station yesterday.

At about 10:15 a.m. a car on The Beast roller coaster did not brake properly and bumped the car in front of it at 5 mph, spokesman Jeff Siebert said.

Siebert said rain made the tracks slippery. Park officials were in the process of shutting down the ride because of the rain when the accident occurred.

A lot more than 20 people were probably hurt in car accidents on 10/16 though.
