Last tuesday me and some friends made the trip up to Great America. Weather cloudy 64 degrees. Besides some bad traffic construction on I-55 everything went great. We got to the park about 5 till 10 and was surprised to see no traffic to get into the parking lot, or to get into the park. First ride Viper. We walked straight into the station waited 2 min and were on. Viper is my favorite woodie and is a great way to start the day. It was running a little slower than usual but the cold weather probably had something to do with that. After viper we walked around and decided to ride the whizzer. Im really mad at myself for skipping this ride in the years past, its a very unique and fun ride that goes pretty fast. After that we headed over to demon and waited about 5 min for front row. The ride was fun with the lights and the tunnels. It was about 11 so we decided to get something to eat and then we headed over to American Eagle Red. They had the blue side running backwards and were racing the trains pretty consistantly. Great ride with some good air on the first drop. After that we walked over to Iron Wolf. Its been about 4 yrs since Ive been on it and I would say its gotten rougher. It wasnt anything too bad though. After another food stop we made our way to Batman and waited through full queues (the only ride in the park that was using all queues). I have to say that I really like Batmans new color scheme. After an intense but very short ride we headed over to my favorite coaster Raging Bull. We waited 30 min for the second row. I was dissapointed to see that they had the trims on the third hill turned on. A hill that usually gave some great floater air was basically reduced to nothing. I was kinda mad, but the ride was still fun just not as great as it could've been. After RB we decided to walk around and try out the stargate 3000 sim they had. I would not recommend this. The sim was pretty boring and the seats didnt match to what was being shown. My friend said that they couldve experienced the same thing sitting on the washing machine and watching sci fi channel. After that we made our way to the Imax theater to relax. It was a good film, but a little long at 45min. I was ready to get on the coasters again. We walked back to Viper for another ride. This time we waited 20 min for back seat and then headed over to AER for another ride. I very much recommend sitting toward the front on AER, the back can be quite painfull, as I unfortuantly found out. It was about 6:30 and we were all tired and ready to go home but I wanted to get another ride on Raging Bull. We waited 20 min for second row and had another fun ride. Deja Vu, SUF, and V2 we all running, but nobody I was with really wanted to ride them so I guess I'll catch them next time. Overall I had a great day at the park. The crowds were perfect and we got a lot of rides in.

Yeah it was a nice trip. This was the first time where I actually got to walk around and just enjoy the park without the extreme heat and crazy crowds. Ive already been on V2 and SUF, so I wasnt too upset that I didnt get to ride them, my friends arent the bravest people so Deja Vu was a no right from the start. It was still a fun trip though.
