My girlfriend and I decided going to Geauga Lake to see the transformation would be a good way to celebrate her 16th birthday. So, we were dropped off at about 10:30 AM ready to experience the Lake.

We first headed to Double Loop to warm up the coaster gears. The station was empty so we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, as we were getting ready to board, an attendant told us we had to walk back to the front of the park to get a locker , rather rudily, because I was not allowed to leave our backpack in the station. This upset me but I'll get back to that later. We got the locker which was a shocking $10 for the day. By now, we had to get on some rides. I guess the walk back to the locker helped my girlfriend develop some guts because she decided she wanted to ride the biggest and baddest coaster at the park, Steel Venom. This shocked me as she is a coaster novice and I figured we would have to work our way up to this level throughout the day. I was surprised to find an empty station. Anyway, we easily got our first ride of the day and I have never seen a more terrified look on someone's face than that on my girlfriend's after that ride! Oh well, she warmed up to the ride later in the day.

We noticed Big Dipper and Head Spin were closed so we took a spin on Sky Scraper to calm things down a bit. After that we got soaked with murky lake water on Shipwreck Falls. Oh, by the way, Sky Scraper and Shipwreck Falls had empty stations as well. We then rode Americana which had a horrible crew. We felt it was time to try the other side of the park out so we gave Double Loop another shot. It still had an empty station. We then decided to conquer The Villain. It too, had an empty station (anyone catching on to a theme for the day here?). We then rode an empty Beaver Land Mine Ride, empty Raging Wolf Bobs, empty Grizzly Run, and another empty Double Loop ride.

The sun was starting to come out so we headed to Hurricane Hannah's for a little water activity. After a few times down Hurricane Mountain we realized that it may not have been quite hot enough to enjoy the waterpark. It was about 3:00 so we picked up some food at the fish place by the ferry before getting a ride on X-Flight which, believe it or not, had a 15 minute wait due to the 1 train operation. We took a quick lap on an empty Steel Venom before riding an empty Bel Air Express. We then noticed Big Dipper was open so we waited 5 minutes (another 1 train operation) to ride this classic.

We felt it was time to slow things down so we saw the Xtreme Team show before walking over to be two of about 20 people enjoying the water ski show. We had a relaxing ferry ride back over while Sarah had an emotional connection with the ducks. We finished up with a few rides on Steel Venom and another ride on X-Flight.

Closed rides:
Head Spin
Hook's Lagoon
Mr. Hyde's Nasty Fall

Steel Venom (4 rides): The ride was running great today and featured the only crew that actually seemed like they wanted to be there. They were dispatching fast and were having fun with the guests. My girlfriend's favorite ride of the day. Only saw the holding brake not catch the train once.

X-Flight (2 rides): Good ride, bad crew. It's not good when your crew spends more time talking to each other than checking restraints especially on a ride like X-Flight which already has bad capacity and was oly running one train. Saw a few cell phones flying on the last ride of the day.

Double Loop (2 rides): Another bad crew. Didn't seem like they wanted to be there at all. Ride still fairly smooth which is shocking for a 70's Arrow looper.

The Villain (1 ride): The ride's running great, the Gerstlauer trains aren't. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE just give it some PTC trains and Geauga Lake will have a world-class woodie.

Beaver Land Mine Ride (1 ride): Good for a kiddie coaster. Banged my knees up a little.

Raging Wolf Bobs (1 ride): Another ride in much need

Good TR, the lockers are a big issue, and they definately need to get a firmer grip on their employees. Next year should be a huge transformation for the park, I can't wait for 2005.

Glad you had a good time.

it's Ok. I've been on it before. It is a great ride. 1 zero-G roll away from being one of B&M's best rides ever.

Ah, those are awesome inversions if executed correctly. Good TR, BTW.
