This idea actually came out of a critizism of CPGuy again in the "Number 1" post. I think it would be a good idea if we all confessed what our #1 coaster is then list 10 or nearly 10 reasons why it is their favorite. It really shows understanding of why roller coasters are such art. But off of that, I guess I'll start:
----------------------------
"Incredible Hulk"

1. Launch right out of the station
2. A Total Of 7 Incredible Inversions
3. Mist used throughout the ride experience
4. Zero-G Roll out of the tunnel 100+ ft. in the air (Most intense inversion EVER, IMO)
5. Comfortable Trains
6. Tunnels
7. Twisted Figure-8 Config. in 2nd part of ride
8. Speed
9. Really Nice, True-To-The-Comic (But still somewhat incomplete) Themeing
10. Track Glows At Night (A really unique feature, even if it is just the paint).

--------------------
"I'd like to thank all the people who made Incredible Hulk, Titan, and Superman:Ride Of Steel (SFDL, a'course) possible...Big up to Intamin. You are some coaster geniouses. Gionvanola & B&M, I know you are one and the same...in so many ways. I get so choaked up at these moments..."

Dominator-

1. INCREDIBLY smooth, smoothest I've ridden.

2. Front Car Floorless Effect
3. Back Car provides the most intense ride

4. Trains rushing over queue line
5. No Matter How long the queue is, the line almost always moves quickly

6. Twisting Drop
7. Incredibly Tall Vertical Loop
8. The Ride Never Loses Excitement
9. Park's most visually stunning ride
10. This Year Dominator is running 3 trains, which is a very big improvement from when SF ran 2 trains max.

These are some reasons why Dominator, formerly Batman: Knight Flight is the best!

That is pretty cool, but I still don't fully understand it, does anyone have any pics of it or can it be captured on a picture?? -Thanks
Also, not to be a nag or anything, Hulk only has 7 inversions, not 8

Superman Ride Of Steel: (SFNE)

1: The immense amounts of airtime
2: The 2 underground tunnels
3: Being RIGHT next to the connecticut river(it kind of makes me feel like i'm gonna fall in)!
4: The lack of Block Brakes(keeps the ride quick and smooth)
5: The overbanked turnaround(for some reason I always liked it)
6: The gleaming red paint(that it used to have)
7: The height(i i know its not THAT tall compared to MF and TTD but its tall enough to fit my needs)
8: It was the first coaster (real) that i have ever been on.
9: The fact that its a hypercoaster. Ive always liked hypercoasters more for some odd reason.
10: The mist in the tunnel(it actually does cool you down).

This is a great topic!!! Well done!

Millennium Force:

1) Fast lift hill, that's always a plus!
2) The most incredible first drop on any coaster on the planet.
3) The overbanked turns. I think that they are phenomenal!
4) Speed. I have never been on a coaster that maintains speed the way that this one does.
5) Location, location, location. Being set next to Lake Erier has to be one of the greatest coaster settings.
6) Capacity. The lines are huge, but the wait isn't three hours. Who hates that?
7) The layout on this ride is also great. The ride could have simply been an out-back, but this ride goes everywhere making for a great, well-thought-out ride.
8) The trains are very roomy and very stylish.
9) The station is very futuristic.
10) It's a ride that I'll never forget.

10. Track Glows Green At Night

That is pretty cool, but I still don't fully understand it, does anyone have any pics of it or can it be captured on a picture?? -Thanks

It may be just an illusion but at certain angles, the paint on the track (i'm guessing) reflects light and looks like it glows an eeree green. This really complements the theme, even it is unintentional or just a "trick played by your eyes".

Here's a link to the RCDB: It's actually listed as a special feature...Incredible Hulk Coaster

BTW: You weren't being a nag about the inversions. You are absolutely right. I knew something was wrong with that when I put it down but I was too lazy to go check it out. I kept recounting over and over again but then I just said "Whatever" and put it down. You'd think I wouldn't mess up something like that when it pertains to my favorite coaster...silly me.

& Thanks MovieCoast for the complement!

Cyclone (Astroland)

1) Seriously vicious first drop
2) Insane laterals
3) Completely out-of-control feel
4) Never the same ride twice
5) Big ol' original trains
6) Rough and ragged appearance
7) History and tradition
8) Intensely creative layout for small footprint
9) The ocean right ahead of you
10) Old operators and lever brakes

...I could go on and on, but I think this sums it up...

It's called www.rcdb.com. How can you be on this site and not know what the Coney Island Cyclone looks like??? That's sad.

The Incredible Hulk track was supposed to glow at night, but they couldn't get it to happen. When IOA was in construction it was one of those things I read it was supposed to do and I was dissapointed they couldn't do it.

My favorite coaster is Phantom's Revenge at Kennywood Park. The reasons why are........

1.) The placement - Right up in front, towering over Lost Kennywood
2.) First drop - Swooping/curving drop is great from back when you get pulled over
3.) Second drop - The "big" drop plunges 230 feet and knifes right through Thunderbolt!
4.) Speed
5.) Amazing airtime!!!
6.) Going through T'Bolt twice
7.) Partial tunnel with steel beam headchoppers
8.) Those double-dip bunny hops
9.) Smooth as glass
10.) Roomy, comfortable trains & restraints

6. Interacts with other rides
7. Focus on safety features
8. Looks and rides great at night
9. Area to watch the ride launch
10. Inversions flip you around so that you have no idea where you are

Eh, I missed this thread first go-through.

'Revenge of the Mummy'

- Top notch special effects
- Two great looking animatronic mummies
- Great storyline to go with it
- Theming throughout the ride is incredible
- FIRE!
- MORE FIRE!
- Dark launch through Imhotep =
- Three spots of great air (in pitch dark)
- Nice intense coaster portion (at least, the first "half")
- Fake station scene
- FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!
- Small King Kong statue in the treasure room
- Ride ops that are really into the theme of the ride
- Greatly themed queue

I probably could mention a few more, but I am good with what I got.

Right...that second half of the coaster portion is the ride's only flaw. If it were five seconds longer, the ride would be FLAWLESS. Well, a better ending could also help.

The second half is still entertaining though. You get some good shots at other trains on other portions of the track, and there are the neat mummy posters that light up as well.

- Great height and nice view
- Backseat offers some good air
- Steep first drop with serious stomach dropping action!
- Speed
- Comfortable seats and lapbar
- Hammerhead element
- Great double helix with lots of G force
- Seats are high enough so your feet don't touch the floor, it provides a more unrestrictive feeling.
- Long lift which builds anticipation
- Smooth as ice

Millenium Force is my favorite coaster because of the height (310 feet), speed (92 mph), trains, tunnels, smoothness, overbanked turns, elevator lift, scenery of the lake, the length of coaster (44,013 feet), and because it's at my home park.
