This past Saturday (5/29) I made my first visit to Cedar Point. I had been looking forward to this day so much and was so excited. The park was fabulous, and even exceeded all of my highest expectations. My dad has a small plane, so he agreed to take me. By staying at the Breakers Express we had an early entrance pass to the park, which proved to be very useful. The first thing that struck me about the park was its great location. Absolutely beautiful, and the lake can be seen from the top of practically every coaster. A great thing about Cedar Point is the pride that the guests have in it. That whole ritual where they play the national anthem and everybody runs in is a nice touch. The amazing number of quality rides this park has to offer is unparalleled anywhere in the world. Because I had only one day at the park, I tried only to get in the rides I wanted to most. Here's how my day went....

-Entered the park at 9 A.M. because of the early entrance pass.
-Millennium Force
Sat in the front car. Most amazing ride of my life. It is impossible to describe this coaster. If you want to read more see my review. Basically, this is my new number one coaster and I believe it is the best ride ever created.
-Raptor
Pretty good inverted coaster, but fell somewhat short of my expectations. A little rough (surprising for a B+M) and pacing seemed off.
-Mantis
My first stand-up. Cool layout, but had more potential and could have been better. The first part of the ride was great and the freedom was outstanding. However, it really does take it's toll on your legs.
-Top Thrill Dragster
Not a great coaster in the sense that Millennium Force is, but it is nothing short of amazing. The speed and height is ridiculous, and my ride was an experience I'll never forget. Too short to get my number one spot though.
-Ate at Midway Market
-Magnum XL-200
The real pleasant surprise of my trip. It is a real honor for a coaster to be the third-best in this park (after MF and TTD of course) but this one did it for me. Fabulous airtime and a great ride that is often overlooked.
-Mean Streak
Didn't find it unpleasantly rough like many people said. A very good wooden coaster, but not the best. Great to look at. If they were using a twister layout it could have used more dives back into the support structure.
-Left park for about an hour
-Wicked Twister
Cool idea and very fun. Gets old quickly though and I would not consider a re-ride. Definitely worth going, but once is enough. Back seat is by far the best.
-Finished day off with Disaster Transport, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, and Corkscrew

*See all my reviews for much more detail!

Overall, going to Cedar Point was an unbelievable experience. Their coasters are by far the world's best. Nothing short of amazing. If you haven't gone, you MUST get to Cedar Point sometime soon!

Nice TR. I've read most of your reviews, so I pretty much knew how you liked the rides, nice job keeping it short. I can't wait to go this July.

Thanks. Cedar Point really is amazing. I would have written an even longer TR but I didn't want to keep blabbering on. I encourage you to read my reviews though!

Sounds like fun. But it sounds like you didn't get to do everything (which is still more than me BTW).

Well done, benleibo - CP is truly a great park. I'm glad you had such a good time, it's good to know that CP's still the great park it's always been.

I didn't really notice any construction or anything going on. One thing worth noting is that Mean Streak was operating with the trims. Someone said that they were not using them this spring, but I felt the trims really kick in on the first drop.

Glad you had a good time!!! CP truly is an amazing experience. It seems like it can be compared to WDW in that WDW is a must, once-in-a-lifetime thing for kids and that CP is the same for coaster enthusiasts.

If I had to choose I'd pick Cedar Point over WDW any day.

Oh, definitely. Cedar Point is a far superior park to WDW. I still don't understand why the general public has little knowledge of Cedar Point.

If I spent tons of money building the world's tallest and fastest coaster, I would have a national advertising campaign to publicize it. I guarantee you if people knew about TTD and MF and all their coasters, their attendance would skyrocket - however, its better for us.

Yeah, we don't want a queue that goes clear back to Demon Drop, now do we?

I waited an 1:20 for TTD. I wasn't thrilled of course, but overall it wasn't as bad as some of the times i've heard. It passed kind of quickly though - you could even watch that coaster all day without getting bored. It's really cool to watch it launch from the queue, and even cooler to ride it of course.

Yeah, I'll ride Demon Drop this summer, since I really am hoping it's better than Hydes at GL.

I rode Freefall at SFMM, which is the same thing as Demon Drop. I actually liked it. I'm not a big fan of heights (love coasters though, figure that one out), so towers aren't my favorite. I like that on Demon Drop-type towers you're semi-enclosed and it's not as tall, but you still get the great airtime of all towers.

lol it didn't kill anyone, it did injure some people in a car when it rolled back the elevator shaft though, but that was before they installed the new safety system in 1997(I think it was '97?).

That's not what I meant. Oy! Anyone would pick the point over WDW, but what I was saying was was that they are similiar in how they are both a "rite of passage", WDW being one for kids and the Point being one for coaster enthusiasts.

Nicely said, MovieCoast. I agree with that last statement entirely.

Ever since I became really into coasters, I had been thinking about my first trip to Cedar Point. It is almost like a duty that all coaster enthusiasts have to fullfill - a pilgrimage to Cedar Point. When somebody first becomes a coaster enthusiast, from then on a trip to CP is at the top of their list.
