This was my first time going to this park, even though it's only 45 minutes from my home. (It was a school trip, so we had very little time to go on the rides) I actually prefer Seabreeze, a park real closeby, over this park, and for many reasons.
Not only was this my first time to SFDL, but it was also my first experience at a Six Flags park. Now I know what you guys have been complaining about.
The park didn't seem too clean at all, and everything was pretty unattractive. I entered the park with some friends and headed toward the Mind Eraser. It's just your standard SLC, but it's over a lake with mist, which makes it a tad better. I waited about 25 minutes for the front row, although I was a little disappointed. I'd give it a 7/10.
The Viper came next. It's an old Arrow looper, with five inversions, but it was a tad rough. There's a tunnel at the end too, which was a nice touch. The problem with Viper is that the mid-course brakes almost completely stop the trains, and the ride is slowed down quite a bit as a result. I'd give it an 8/10.
The Boomerang came next. Once again, it's your standard Vekoma Boomerang, although I had never ridden one before. It wasn't too bad, just very short.
Superman: Ride of Steel, which is the tallest and fastest coaster east of the Mississippi, was not operating. It looked like a great ride, but I understand why it's closed. The Predator coaster was also not operating (stupid Six Flags!), but nobody could figure out why, not even the employees .
Of the three water rides, only one was operating. Not too good on a cloudy, hot humid day. I couldn't figure out why they weren't operating - the park was extremely crowded.
Overall, I would say that this park is not worth anybody's time. S:ROS is probably a great coaster, but it's probably the only great attraction in the whole park. Great for locals, bad for us enthusiasts

Did you ride any flats at the park? Was there a spiecal event that made the park crowded, or was the trip on the weekend?

The park was packed, although it was a school event. (Physics Day) The flats were all pretty good, but nothing you wouldn't see at other parks.

Exactly. The park is stuck in mediocracy mode and it's been this way for a number of years. That's why, I guess, my family stopped going because it was there would never be anything new (to brag about: Shipwreck Falls and the various new attractions which require a fee to experience them don't really count as a major new addition).
BTW: S:ROS IS the only "great" attraction in the park, roller coaster or not. It's sad, really.

S:RoS is not the tallest and fastest coaster east of the Mississippi, despite what Six Flags might say. They themselves have a taller S:RoS at another park east of the Mississippi, and don't even mention Nitro, MF, and TTD.

He knows. We had a talk about the false advertisement in another post. Danny was probably just mocking Six Flags

Don't question Six Flags! They would never lie to me!

Hehe, they are definately the most..odd park chain. I love how when you go to their official site, you click on a coaster, and it will include photos of other coasters also.

Yeah, just like the commercials. (Viper at SFMM is shown instead of S:ROS)

Oh, ok. I still think the whole situation is ridiculous and stupid.
