Hey everyone! Here is my trip report for Saturday May 1st, 2004:

There was drops of rain here and there. No downpours. No crowds and very cold.

I started off leaving my house at 8:30AM. I got to the park at 9:20 and waited at the gates until 9:30 and then at the gates to Hometown Square. Once 10:00 hit, everyone moved forward and was let free at the split for County Fair and Southwest Terretory. I sprinted off to Raging Bull pratically passing everyone. I ended up being the 5th person for Raging Bull (Goal was in the top 10). After Raging Bull, I went on Giant Drop, then to Viper. Then headed all over the place going on each coaster twice in a row. Revolution was open. Its really fun and is like a Gravatron that swings back and forth. Went on it 5 times. Hit Dejavu once. I got on the 4th train row/seat 1A. Later in the day I marathoned on Whizzer for a while. (5 times). I needed to sleep so I did. (literally). All the water rides were open. (You wouldnt catch me on any...or anyone else). Marti Gras is looking good. Track for Ragin' Cajun is on site and some pieces are in place. Big Easy Balloons looked more assembled. I like Batman's colors, except in the station they shoud've left only that part of track. The yellow didn't fit in there. I got on 39 rides today, ending with a solo ride (no one else on the train) for Demon (red).

totals: 39
Raging Bull: 5
Viper: 5
Giant Drop: 1
Demon: 6
Deja Vu: 1
Revolution: 5
American Eagle: 4
Iron Wolf: 1
Vertical Velocity: 1
Batman: 2
Superman: 1
Whizzer: 5
Stargate SG 3000: 1
Great America Raceway: 1

Nice TR, short and to the point. You like Demon enough to go on it 6 times!? I will occasionally ride it once.

Since no ones posted in here yet, it confirms my belief that SFGAm is under-rated; it's constantly getting overshadowed by CP.

i love Demon. Its certainly not my favorite, but it still is fun. I dont get banged up on it either like everyone else does.

SFGAm is underrated when its compaired to cedar point. Cedar point has all record breakers (sfgam has too but old ones) and CP just has more powerful rides. But cedar point doesnt have much going for them when it comes to theming. SFGAm has extreamely well themed kiddie areas and an awesome themed Southwest Territory. The only theming CP really has is in the main midway. The rides you cant really call "themed".

I'll usually give the Demon one ride. I stick my head out of the restraints for the corkscrews, and I ride front car.

That's what I've been telling the CP fans. They need to come over here and try out SFGAm. I need to try out CP too.

Ive been to both parks and they are both a lot of fun. CP is a much larger park and the location at Lake Erie makes it very unique. As for Great America it does have very nice theming throughout the park, and a great selection of quality rides. In my opinion they are both great parks and neither one should be missed.
