If you could build a new type of coaster, what would it be? Mine would have to be just like a regular sit-down looping coaster, but at the end have a specail peice of track that freefalls into the station. Like this:

///////////\/specail track regular track\/
/////////////_____________|_______________

____________

^^^Track leading out of station
Specail track also works as station.

I'd have a trackless, trainless and stationless coaster.

and, if it was trackless, trainless, and stationless coaster, you'd be sitting on the ground... i think you'd need some psychiatric help.

Exactly, you wouldn't have a coaster at all.

I'd make an inverted stand-up.

A wooden Standing/floorless would be intresting, even possible....

I don't know about that. To stand and be floorless you would need you to be stratled on some sort of bike seat type thing. Now with the roughness of a wood coaster...well, it might hurt the family jewels.

A roller coaster that you are on the side of the track, instead of above or below it.

I would like a hypercoaster with no restraints too. Of course we'd all die. Actually, restraints like the one in the Machine in the movie Contact would be cool, but you'd have to wear a special suit to do it.

Kind of, except a different design. It's like everything except the seats took a 90 degree turn

That might actually be possible. Just put the stand up trains under neath the track and put a platform for people to stand on, plus there wouldn't be as much head banging becuz you head would be jerked around as much becuz it is close to the rather than on a normal stand up where you head is away from the track.

Your point is well seen. The floorless thing might still work though.

I would stop with all the silly gimmicks. I don't care much for most of the new ideas that arise. Some are fun. I think B&M inverts are generally fun, and Intamin rockets and impulses are too. Sit-downs are fine with me though.

I can't imagine riding a see through coaster. It'd be so cool not knowing where the track is. Oh well, maybe in 100 years they'll come up with it.

You could always take away the bike seat and just have the people desperately hang to their harnesses!

lol. why can't they just have leg braces or a seatbelt or something? I mean, its a standing coaster, whats with the bike seats? have its sort of "mold to your body" or almost surround you, like on a Round-Up.

Either that or maybe make much better padded bike seats...

I guess it could be worse, it could be a steel pipe instead of a bike seat.

Actually I can see some logic in that floorless inverted idea. You could have the good ol' bike seats so your standing with no floor and inverted. That would be cool. although, give those bike seats some thick, soft padding. We don't want to be sterile here.

That's already been done, SoB.
