Funtown First trip 2nd day of operation

My brother and I arrived late to the park getting there at 12:00. Both paid $20.00 to get in a little less then their normal $24.00. The park was looking goo and surprisingly their now water play areas for Splashtown is almost finished just two more slides to install.
We first went to Dragons Descent. Its right next to the park entrance. This is a great turbo drop and the best Tower in NE. Every ride was open except one Kiddie ride.

We aid our way to Excalibur the park wood coaster. It was a somewhat cold day so it was running a bit slow. But the ride was still good. I logged 18 rides on this coaster throughout the day. This increased my ride count to 65 on this one ride in 3 trips to the park. This ride is a free form coaster meaning it is designed specifically for the area. A lot of trees were left standing around the coaster giving it a great look.

We rode every ride in the park except the go-carts and the Bumper boasts. The go-carts you get 2 free rides on. The tilt-a-whirl was running well but squealed on the brakes. They need to slow it down a bit slower. One thing good about all the flats in this park is that they offer a long ride. their selection is pretty good and they well placed around the park.

I rode their Thunder falls Log flume, the park only water ride, 5 times. This is the longest and tallest long flume in NE.
I took 2 rides I on the Astrosphere. It is an included Scrambler which plain Music and has a choreographed light show throughout the ride. They use the song Fir on High with is a modern classical sound. Think of Joker make the ride 3 times longer and add steroids.

Rode the galaxy 3 times. This coaster is likely going t be removed soon. They have let it fall into disrepair a bit. The track is rusty. In turn the ride is a little rough. But it’s still an enjoyable ride. This one is faster then most.

I grab a snack at one of the shops got a slice of pizza fries and a drink for $6.00. The food was fantastic. Some of the best park food I have had. My first time buying food at the park. Drinks did go up this year. Their soda machines have gone up to 1.75 for a 20oz.

I spent some time talking to Employees and the owner. Found out the old Pretzel dark ride building will be conversed to a First aid building. Also that they are still planing the family raft slide for the next year or so. This will also be the last year for Mini golf at the park. They will remove it to expand the Water Park.

Thanks for the great trip report. I'm hoping to make a trip there this season. I hope they replace the Galaxy Coaster with a wild mouse. I love wild mice, and it would be so awesome to have one nearby. I think it would be a very nice addition to that park because it would not be too big and it is a great family ride, but it still packs a punch.

How big is Excalibur? From pictures, it looks like a great coaster.
