On May 2, I went to Six Flags Great Adventure for physics day with my physics class. My day began with traffic and lots of it! First, my bus to school got stuck on the LIE. They closed the expressway because one of the steel trusses that holds signs was falling down, luckily my bus driver does not obey traffic laws and was able to ride on the shoulder where there was one. So I got to school an half hour after we were supposed to leave for the park. Getting out of Long Island and NYC had some somewhat bad traffic too. But finally we got to SFGAdv at 11:45.

Now, I had heard that Physics day usually has short lines, but not today. The park was packed like a can of sardines. My first stop was Nitro, I waited about 45 minutes to ride and it was as always well worth the wait. The airtime was great! It's still the number one ride at SFGAdv in my opinion.

Next I hiked over to Medusa, clear across the park. The line was pretty long for this ride too but it appeared reasonable. While I was on the line they added the third train and caused me some extra waiting time. The people waiting in line were not pleasant either, smoking and cutting line. After about 40 minutes I finally got on the ride and enjoyed it.

Then I went to Superman Ultimate Flight. The line was about the same length as the other rides but the loading time is slow. I waited an hour and 15 minutes. My expectations for this ride were kinda low. I got in the seat, strapped myself in and waited. The floor dropped and the seats did a reverse recline to the flying position. It was very comfortable. I started up the lift hanging down on the restraints. Took a nice drop to the right and looked down the track. There was the horseshoe loop looming in the distance. We made our accent to the top of the loop and plumeted through an amazing 360 degree circle of bliss. The wonderful g- force pulled me off the restraints and onto my back, that is one brilliant element. Some nice turns and an inline twist finished off the ride. I enjoyed it much more than I expected to and it was worth the wait. But I also realized how much more could be done with this type of ride. I hope this is just like the begining of the B&M inverted coaster, we will probably see alot of SUF's throughout six flags parks, and I hope Busch does one with some new elements that use the terrain and I like some nice airtime in the flying position.

ErUPtion looks almost complete, the pod is in place but the seats are still wraped in plastic. There was some welding work on Viper as well.
That was all I got to do, we left the park at 4:00. I had about 8 minutes of ride time for the 4 hours and 15 minutes I spent in the park. I am glad I got to ride some coasters but I would not want to do that again. The most car traffic and people traffic I have ever experenced in one day.
