I plan on going to Hershey Park on June 28. If you have any tips can you please post them? Also can you please tell me on what the most popular rides are and wich rides have the longest waits. Can I ride all the coasters and major rides in one day? What other attractions outside the park are worth a visit? Thanks for all the help!

I went in 2000, you should have no problem hitting everything and I personally think Lightning Racer is the best. Ummm, outside of the park I think there are some pretty good outlet stores really close by. I came really close to buying a vacuum when I was there.

Make shore you hit Hershey's Chocolate World. it's a dark ride located out side the park at the parks main street.

My personal favorite at the park is still the Comet, it is just a fun ride.

Like most parks you should head for the back of the park. I head for Great Bear first. If you get there early there will be little to no wait. Ride that a few times and work your way toward the American Midway along the back of the park. Trail Blazer is good for a quike spin, then Sidewinder.

Once done Sidewinder you are close to the entrance to American Midway. Enter the section and if you feel like getting wet ride Roller Soaker. If not head for Lightning Racers. By now this part of the park should start to pick up. Head over to the Wildcat, then hit the Wild Mouse right across the way. Now head back towards the entrance and ride the Comet, which always has a line , and the Sooperdooperlooper which is fun but rarely has much of a line. And that is it for the coasters.

The park has a bunch of decent flats, but nothing spectacular with exception to maybe the Flying Falcons which are pretty cool.

Overall, Hershey is a nice park, if a bit tame. You may want to consider forgoing Hersheypark and instead to the trip out to Knoebel's. It does not have as many coasters, but three out of four of them are fantastic, and the selection of flats is far superior. On top of this, the park is a lot cheaper (being free admision and free parking). It is a park that should not be missed on a park hopping trip through Pennsylvania.

Flying falcons is cool but just a question..Is Great Bear any good? i had a friend who went to hershey last year and said he skipped grat bear because it "looked stupid"..he's not the most honest person and tends to get afraid to ride somethin and try to pull off a bullshit reason for why he didnt so i was just wonderin if it really is good or if he was tellin the truth.

Great Bear is suprisingly good, it's no Raptor or Alpengeist but quite a solid ride.

I never go on a weekend, so I don't know how things are then. The lines are not too bad. Their ride ops are pretty efficant and friendly, and they know what they are doing.

Lightning Racers' lines actually move very fast because they run 4 trains, and the line goes up the middle of the station, so you don't pick a side until you are about to get on.

Great Bear is a fun ride, though it kinda dies at the end. The last inversion is pretty neat though. It is also nice because it is a very custom ride, weaving in and out of several rides, and it starts with a helix instead of a regular drop. The line will depend on how busy the park is, get to it first and get the front seat.

Here is a shot of just how intertwined Great Bear is:

NO OTSR. The layout I belive is similar to Revolution, but Herseypark has stuck to just lapbars, making it an excellent ride.

Roller Soaker is great if you like water rides and interactive rides. As a coaster it pretty much blows.

Sorry Big Red I didn't see this topic til just now, but Hersheypark is my home park so I can help you out.

If I'm not mistaken, June 28th is a Saturday right? Unfortunately it's going to be pretty crowded. If you get there when the park opens, walk past Comet. It's the closest coaster from the entrance and it always has a sizeable line early in the day. So unless you're one of the first people in and you can get in line before everyone else, walk past for now. Also walk past SooperDooperLooper for now and hop in line for Great Bear. If you beat the crowds there, you may only have to wait 15 minutes if that. When you get off, re-ride if you want or head over to ride Sidewinder. Then make your move to the back of the park and hop on the Wildcat. Re-ride or get on Wild Mouse. Then head over to Lightning Racer which rarely has a wait of over 10 or 15 minutes even on busy days because there are 4 trains. Be sure to ride both sides. If you really want to ride Roller Soaker, you can do that but it's almost 100% that it will have a long, long line. If you still have plenty of time before you leave, you can hang around the back of the park and re-ride any rides that you really liked, and also some flat rides if you want. If you don't have much time before you leave (i.e. less than 3 hours or so) you should prolly had back to the front for re-rides on Great Bear and to get on SooperDooperLooper and Comet. Great Bear may have a wait of up to 45 minutes at this time. Looper is often a walk-on at this time, and it can't be missed. It's a great experience as one of the few looping coasters with no OTSR's and it has a great ending too. Hop on Comet, (wait is prolly about 20 minutes at this time) back seat is best for airtime. Take the time you have left for re-rides and any flat rides you want to get on. Have fun

Don't forget Trailblazer. It is not a great ride, but it does add to your ride count.

Sooperdooperlooper has just one inversion. You have to remember one thing about this ride, it was one of the first modern loopers, so it was a big deal back in '77. It also happens to be a good ride, a classic Schwarzkopf.

Hersheypark is favorite park so far. The themeing and atmosphere is amazing! I really wish you'd have planned on going before this year, because you would've been able to ride Cyclops which was ssooo fun! The capacity at the park is pretty good and the lines usually move quickly. Only ride Trailblazer or Roller Soaker if the lines are short. Roller Soakers lines will be very long. If you skip it, you're not missing much. Only sit towards the front on Great Bear, because it's the only way to ride. If you want to get wet don't go on Coal Cracker, because you won't get wet. Canyon River Rapids has the fastest moving line I've ever seen for a rapids rides. It's amazing! Ride Comet later in the afternoon when the lines are shorter. Bottom line just have fun! I don't think you'll have a problem with that though!

If life is a roller coaster, why can't it be an inverted one?

Is Dutch Wonderland near Hershey? How is the park(good or bad). The only reason I want to go is because of Sky Princess. Is it a good coaster?

It is about an hour away. It is a nice park, I went when I was a kid before SP was put in, but it is a park for kids, and personally SP does not seem good enough alone to make it worth the high admission price.

Visit the Hershey website. Hershey as a whole is a huge destination, and not just for the park. There are lots of places to stay in Hershey, and any of the online hotel services should have the Hershey area listed under Harrisburg. I prefer Hotwire
