Sweet trip report, Horizons. I think I rode "Dark River" a couple of years ago and remember it being a complete joke. Did you guys check out Revenge of the Mummy 3-D? It's sort of a walk-through day-glo Egyptian themed haunted house. I thought the art work was pretty decent-it was way better than I expected.

Yes, we did go into Revenge of the Mummy, I completely forgot to add that into the TR. It was an OK walktrhough I thought, Pirates of the Wildwoods uses the same stuff for the 3D effect. I didn't really notice the artwork too much because I was looking for the air blast sensors scattered around. I really liked the 'mummy room' though with all the moving statues. That single effect made the whole ride better than Jersey Junkyard as a whole I thought.

Dark River had no surprise props but did have a guy lurking around after one of the little lift hill things that act as block sections. Still, thats a cheap trick. The only prop I really remember from Dark River was the one of the naked women maniquin that turned around to reveal that the whole front of her is sliced off. Dark River abosolutely paled in comparison to the Dracula's Dungeon Boat Ride. It's too bad that burnt down, it was really good.

Very good TR, and very nice photos too - you've got some really good shots in there. AtmosFEAR sounds like it's pretty cool, although the performance sounds like it could benefit from a taller tower...although 140 feet is just fine for me, thanks! Also, nice touch about the hot sauces...enjoy those.

Thanks for all the compliments.

Atmosfear seems just right at 140 feet actually, mostly due to the incredibly long time that it takes for the car to rise to the top. It's got to be around a full minute if not more. It also stands on a pier with no tall rides near it which makes it seem a bit higher.

Well, that does make more sense. Actually, the pier bit sounds similar to the Ice Blast at Pleasure Beach...although that it as a launch tower, the ride looks short but is actually pretty tall and provides some great views from up top.

indeed... my video of it was just over a minute long, from liftoff till the drop was finished. Great ride, even better effects.

Oh yea, killer pics, but I'm sure you already knew that
