Well, I wasn't going to take this trip, but with things falling close together, in this case Lost Coaster Weekend followed by a letterboxing event the next weekend, I decided, what the heck.

I will be posting the on going trip report here, along with photos. But first:

The Plan

Thurs. Aug 17-

Travel day. I will be leaving Philly and headed for Holiday World, a 12 hour drive. I may stop by Kentuky Kingdom. I've been to the park before, and it is not impressive, but it is an easy quick stop.

Has anyone gone to Sticker's Grove on a day other then their two public days? I hear if you write them real nice they will let you in to ride the coasters. Has anyone done this?

Fri. Aug 18 -

Holiday World. Basiclly just to ride Voyage. I am not a big fan of the park, it is nice, but once you have ridden the coasters, their flats are pretty weak and unimpressive.

I plan to leave by 3ish and head to Indiana Beach for the nighttime ERT.

Sat. Aug 19 -

Indiana Beach. Lost Coaster Weekend is one of the best events out there. Can't wait for LoCoSuMo.

Sun. Aug 20 -

Head for the Dells. I plan to be at Kiddieland at opening, and then stop at Little A-Merrik-A along the way. Depending on when I make it to the Dells I may do Timber Falls or maybe Riverview.

Mon. Aug 21 -

Do the Dells. Anything I didn't get done on Sunday. That night head for Milwaukee.

Tues. Aug 22 -

Six Flags Great America. Depending on crowds, I may get a Q-bot, since I didn't pay to get in the park anyway.

I am thinking about catching a Brewers game that night. Would I be shortchanging the park if I left by about 5?

Overnight I plan to take the SS Badger across the lake. Has anyone done this before?

Wed. Aug 23 -

Michigan's Adventure followed by a trip over to Detroit to catch a Tigers game.

Thurs. Aug 24 -

Head to Niagra. I did not visit Marineland last time i was there, so I do that and head to Martin's for some evening rides on Silver Comet.

Fri. Aug 25 -

Six Flags Darian Lake and start the letterboxing event. I skipped SFDL last time, so this is a first vist for me. Catch a Muckdogs game that night

I am camping at the state park there, does anyone know how far that campground is from the park? I would like to walk it if possible.

Sat. Aug 26 -

Letterboxing event.

Sun. Aug 27 -

Take a ride up to Seabreeze, do some more area letterboxing.

Mon. Aug 28 -

Head home.

If anyone would like to meet me along the way, let me know.

I left around 5 myself having done half the flats and all of the coasters, many with re-rides, and that was on a Tuesday in May. I'd suspect a Tuesday in late August would be fairly similar.

I THINK the campground was adjacent to the park, and they even have an entrance of their own back near the top spin.

Sounds like such a great trip... coasters and ball games... aahhhh

I wouldn't be too sure. SFGAm seems to ramp up significantly in terms of crowd levels after the 4th of July, and stay that way for most of the rest of the season. You still may be able to get on everything, but I'm not sure how re-rides would be.

Cyclonic, I made the mistake of telling my buddy Justin (you may have met him at the Mermaid Parade - he was wearing a straw cowboy hat, topped with an inflatable crab) about your letterboxing practices... now he's hooked on the idea, and is obsessed with running helter-skelter around Coney Island, finding places to hide boxes. We've created a monster.

No email came in - but I've had troubles with the account lately. Sorry about that - can you send a copy?

Well, I have started to load up photos. most of them will be HERE for now, though I will seperate the gallery when I get home. They are loading as I type.

I already have the Coney Island (Ohio) gallery up, it is HERE.

I have so much to say, but that will have to wait, I'm beat, and its only Monday.
