On Friday I made my first trip ever to Six Flags Magic Mountain. Overall, I was a little disappointed, but thought that X was eXcellent (RdRR Bart).

My best friend and I got to the parking gate around 9:02 and by about 9:25 were waiting at the front gate for it to open. We used an AAA coupon so it was only $29.99 apeice.

First thing was to haul a$$ to X. But, when we got there it wasn't running! They said it would be about an hour to an hour and a half for it to open. I was the 4th person in line and sort of wanted to wait, but I figured that would be a waste of time.

So, slightly fatigued from my morning sprint I made my way to Goliath and rode that back seat. Little disappointing, I mean it's not a bad ride, but I don't think top 25. Nice floaty airtime on the 3rd hill (1st hill after the turnaround) but not much else. There was some good +g, but I think I'm just not much a fan of that, so it didn't do much for me.

Then, we started out counterclockwise trip around the park and ride Collosus front seat then back - it was decent.

Then, my friend waited while I rode Batman (she had been to SFMM many times before) and I rode it back right. It was ok too. I like B&M inverts in general, but everybody knows that the Batmans are not like Alpengeist or Raptor. Also, the corkscrews were a bit tight and gave a litte bit of a sidways neck whip, but not that bad.

Then, we headed off to Riddler's Revenge and I rode that back left. I was impressed with this ride. Nothing excellent, but definitely quite good. I'd say better than Mantis at Cedar Point because there is no damn trim break on the first drop and it's a little smoother. I'm not personally a big fan of standups, so that's going to affect my review, but overall it was quite nice.

So, because the park was empty it was only about 11:00 AM and I had ridden four rides. Next, it was off to Superman. I rode that front middle and quite liked it. I thought it would go higher than it did, but even not doing so it was still pretty fun. After riding that I'm getting really excited about the new thing at Cedar Point because I can only imagine how cool it would have been to crest and come down the other side. (They were only running the right side, and still the wait wasn't that bad).

Then came the reason I went to the park in the first place - X. I rode it "back left" (that's what it would be from a bird's eye perspective for any normal ride) and only waited about 45 mintues for it. My only complaint isn't with the ride, but with SFMM management. The station was so crowded it was rediculous. I waited 6 minutes outside the station and 39 inside it - so disorganized. But, as for the ride, it rocked! I mean, wow. That was probably the best experience I have ever had on a coaster (my first ride on Millenium Force back seat may top it) but it was truly amazing. I'll do a review of X at some point and talk more about it. But, for right now all I want you to know is that X is truly fantastic, and I'm not the kind of person that is very loose with his adjectives.

Then it was time for lunch. My friend had Panda Express and I only water. $9.24 for a bowl with rice, chicken, and vegetables and a soda!!!

Then we were off to Viper. Initially I thought I may skip it because I have already ridden the Great American Scream Machine at SFGAdv and my partner was in a little bit of a rush. But, I decided to ride, and rode back seat right. I was impressed. This ride is definitely better than GASM at SFGAdv because it's smoother, and after the final inversion there is a little dip that goes under the track so that it can make a right 180 degree turn into the station at the end and it was a nice little touch to finish it off. Like an after dinner mint, nothing great in itself, but overall it makes the experience better.

So then it was time to go up to the top left corner of the park and hit Psyclone and DeJaVu. I rode Psyclone alone on the 2nd
