Anyone hear any more about whats happening? I know a while ago many of the rides were up for sale, but were they sold? Any chance of it opening for 2006 or will everything be cleared?

I'm curious, myself - usually Cyclonic's pretty much up on these things. I'm really dying to check out this park - really hoping that it will be open this time around.

yeah ive only been there once a long time ago but I remember it was a nice cozy park, and I also remember going through the fun house so many times I lost count lol. Hope that finds a decent home (knoebels? hehe I can dream) if WG is indeed closed. Thanks for emailing them tho, now we can await a response.

If the fun house moves I sure hope it is to Knoebels as they would fix it up. 80% of it was broken when I walked through in 2004.
They might as well take Twister also along with the insane ride ops that run it.

Thats a shame that they may close, even if I was never there...This reminds me of this one book I have of local amusements parks that were located in the coal region. There were so many back in the days.

I know this is copying from coasterbuzz, but someone from there emailed WG and here is what came of it:
"I recently e-mailed the park to find out the latest status for this season- and this is the response I received:
At this moment in time Williams Grove Amusment Park will not be opening for the 2006 season.
We will not be operational for the 2006 season. We had been in negotiations with a operations company to run the operations this season but problems occurred and that will not happen. We have not made our future plans as of yet other than not to operate the amusement park. Williams Grove Speedway will continue to run and Will Not Be Sold in conjuction with a Park Sale.
Watch for updates,.
