I visit California about once every three years, and this time I happened to have an afternoon to spare, so I decided to visit Universal Studios Hollywood.

When I got to the park, I saw a sign that said Jurassic Park was closed, this was a major disappointment, but luckily I have ridden the one at IOA several times in the past. Well, anyways, as I entered the parking lot I saw that it was empty! Literrally, there may have been 20 cars there! I ran to the enterance and was so thrilled to find that the place was deserted!

I knew I only had about 4 hours to spare so I decided to quickley head to the Studio Tour. It was a walk on! the ride was great, my tour guide was a bit annoying, but the ride was great, none the less. Next, I headed down towards Mummy. As I was walking across the park, I was very impressed by the decor and theming throughout the park, Universal did a great job. I got to Mummy, another walk on! The theming and hype for this ride was so huge that the ride itself was a little short and disappointing, but I still enjoyed it. (I'll talk about it in a little more detail in my review, I'll have it up by the end of the week). Next, I stopped by the Jurassic Park Cafe for a lunch/Snack. Standard theme park food, fair quality, high price. Next was another ride on Mummy before I headed back up to the rest of the park.

When I got up the escalator, my first ride was Back to the Future (another walk on!!!) This ride was probably my least favorite of the day. The special effects felt pretty dated (again, I'll post more in my review). Next was Shrek 4D (of course a walk on). I enjoyed this ride, the pre-show was very cute, and the show itself had some fun effects. I then went into the Van Helsing haunted house). The theming in this was great, I even let out a scream once or twice! I suppose it would normally not be too scary but because I was by myslef with no one infront or behind me, it was sort of freaky. I then wanted to see Terminator 3D, but my brother (who was not feeling well all day) started to get a bit nacious, so I decided that I got enough in for the day and we headed out.

Overall, I was very impressed with the park, it was clean, well themed, and most importantly, empty! My only complaint would be that they could use a few more thrill rides or coasters.

I'm sure they are workign on teh trill rides and coasters.

Good review sounds like you had a good time. What made the tour guide annoying?

well, the guide would often interupt the videos to make some stupid joke, and during the parting of the seas effect, he starting playing rap music. It felt like he was ruining the mood of the ride. But, I still thought it was a great ride/tour.
