For starter I’m not going to talk much about the rides. Look to my reviews for more info. This was a blowout weekend we had already gone to Victorian Park in Salem NH to see their haunted attractions and to Lake Compounce for the ACE Boo-lder dash event. We after getting home at 2 in the morning got up a 7:00 to pick up our party and drive to the park. We arrived at 10:00Park opening. Had a pass so drove in their was nobody at the gate. And the people in front of us with no parking pass took advantage of this and park without paying.
We walked up to the gate and see a sign park opens at 12:00 only members of… So after trying to get in we waited at the gate. They eventually put it down and waited another 1.5 hours for park opening. Just before 12:00 they started letting people in. but not my party and the other dozen people in back of us that had been waiting for 2 hours. They never opened the gate in front of us or told us they weren’t going too. We then had to wait at the very front of the park until 12:00 exactly. They then herded us down to Superman. We get their to find that their were already about 60 people waited and they haven’t even finished testing. The red train was missing and the blue we noticed that the wheels were running low and this made the ride shaky.
We managed to get on every coaster in the park minus Mind Bender (no big). Superman was ruff thou I rode it for the first time in the back seat. Cyclone (front seat LOTD) the new Q-bot system lets then choose the seat they want and then they fill in the gap. No more waiting on the bridge and choosing a seat. Every seat must be filled. The addition of trim brake at two new points was severely killed this coaster. The first new trim brake is mild but the second thrown you forward I got a gut full of ERL. Batman was running great and the only coaster running two trains. Road it twice in the front seat. Thou they wouldn’t let us moved back to an empty line at night. They ran the trains half empty for the last half-hour of park operations. I got my back wrenched on the thunderbolt.
Frightfest – The terrorvision 3D and the Brutal Planet were quite good. It only cost 7 for the two attractions if you buy both tickets at the same time. The terrorvision was the better of the two. It was scarier then the brutal planet. Witch used way too much technology. The terror trail was terrible. Their were every few people in the attraction and they reused everything from last year. The only new thing to the trail was the circus area witch was recycles from the carnival of Chaos from last year.
This was my worst trip to ant Six flags park and there wondering why their stock is the lowest it has ever been. I think I’ll drive the extra half an hour and go to great escape. Or just drive to Lake Compounce it’s the same driving time.

Sucks that you had a bad time. I was going to make the drive up there today to abuse my season pass some more, but my car decided it needed the weekend off so I'll have to wait till next year.

Oh good, my dog found the chainsaw!

Once your favorite park sells out to Six Flags, you know that all of the original rides there are doomed. Sure, they'll save some of them for whatever reason, but you can bet that they'll remove as many original rides as they've saved (most of the time).

Riverside (Now Six Flags New England) used to be great fun, but now, unsurprisingly, it's starting to look a lot like your standard Six Flags and sure, most of the new rides they've put in are fun, but it's just not the same.

That's why I'm glad Lake Compounce and Canobie Lake are still around. I don't know about Lake Compounce, but I know that Canobie Lake tried to sell to somewhere, but they didn't have the capacity to hold something like a Six Flags. That's good though, because I prefer a park like that, where things aren't so commercial and you still have some older rides around.

As for Halloween attractions at amusement parks, I prefer Lake Compounce's fright fest. They really go all out. There's always a long line to do their MEGA haunted house, but it's always worth it!

Acualy Six flags tryed to by Canobie. their planed were to close it and use it for storage. in fact they tried twice. thow the copacity is about the same at SFNE, 500,000, infact hey can hold more comfertable. its amazing what you can do when you have more rides. there has been no other company trying to buy Canobie.

lake Compounce is owned by Kennywood. thow the hounted Gravyard in hosted by the park they don't pay for it that's why the costs are seporet.

OMG! If it's true that makes me lose just about any respect I had left for SF. I love Canobie, and I am so glad that I found out about Lake Compounce last year. Lake Compounce is my new favorite park, and Canobie is the place I grew up visiting, so it will always be my favorite nostalgically. Both parks have great character and a sense that they care about their customers.

It is also great that despite SFNE's presence, Lake Compounce, Canobie, and Funtown in Maine have been able to grow and provide a nice alternative.

What happened with this park? I haven't heard a lot about it lately. Was it saved? How much does a whale cost?

A whale is $50.00 each if the park's reopened it will amount to a season pass. the park right now it in a stalemate the person holdignthe perchase and sales agrement hasn'tgon forword with any efert to change voning of even say his sill going to buy the property.

So it looks like he is going to let th contract run out. that will leave Allison Bowen to buy the park with no compitition. with him out of the way we could buy the park at rock botom prices.

If you have any question pleas ask. I have been helping save whalom park organization. I have also been looking for rides to add to thepark once reopened. also talking to places that bought their old rides to see weather they could be returned.

Count me out. If it was a major park I would help but a small local park no. 50 bucks? I'd rather buy a Six Flags season pass with that money.

Do what you wish but this isn't just saving park you are saving a pice of history. Whalom in the 13th oldest park in the U.S. and 23rd in the world. Whalom is one of three remaining trolly parks in New England. The others Being Quassy Amusment Park in Connecticut, and Canobie Lake Park in New Hampshire. The park also has many scarce attractions Such as:

Flying Scooters, 1 of 18
Fun House, featuring a revolving barrel, 1 of 2 in the US and 5 in the world

The park also has a figur eight woodon roller coaster Designed by Vernon Keenon and built by PTC. as you amy know Vernon keenon designed the Cony isnland Cyclone. the Comet is the only other serviving coaster of his design.
