I live two miles from Six Flags New England and have been a regular visitor since the Riverside Park Days. I have found that since the Six Flags organization took over the park, not only did they bring in new rides, but they brought in huge crowds as well. With that said, the last few years I have learned what days seem to have the least crowds....those days being either Mondays or Tuesdays early in the season or during weekends at the end of the Fright Fest. Tonight (Tuesday) my friend and I decided to take an after work visit to the park, going with the past experiences that Tuesday night is the best time to go.

We were wrong. We arrived at the park at 5:45PM and upon entering the park we were greeted to hundreds of middle school kids running out of the park to catch their busses. No problem, the crowds are going home. Wrong again. Once on the midway, we found the park to be mobbed with thousands of people. The first ride we attempted to go on was the new Mr. Six spinning coaster. No way...the line wait was 1 hr 50 minutes. So we decided to go back and try later. We then headed to the Cyclone where we were lucky as there was only a 5 minute wait. The ride on the coaster was fun, it was running well, and despite the horrible trim breaks no in place, we enjoyed the Cyclone. This proved to be our only fun point of the night.

Walking back across the midway we could not help noticing the horrible behavior of many of the park patrons. A group of six city teenage girls were shouting very foul obcenities to another group of boys, all in front of several familes with children as well as Six Flags security, who did nothing to shut the girls up. We entered a gift shop and noticed a guy in his early 20's wearing no shirt, pants hanging down around his waist, and designer underwear hanging out in its' blaze of glory, talking down to the staff in the shop. Classless.

After that, we headed for some supper. After purchasing our meals, we had to wander around the open dining area to find a table that was clean. All the employees were hanging around the kitchen laughing out loud and horseplaying...several of the girls making cat calls to "cute guys" walking out on the midway.

Trying to salvage the night, we headed across the park to hitch a ride on Superman Ride of Steel. Yah right. 2 Hr wait. The same for Batman, while Mind Eraser was shut down.
We made various attempts try to ride any of the flat rides. All over 30 minute waits.

At this point we both realized that this night was not going to be salvaged and we headed to the exit. On the way out we decided to grab some ice cream, but changed ourr mind when we found several scuzzy looking cologne-wearing guys were laying out on the customer counter while the Six Flags teen employee was stroking their hair! No joke!

We left horribly mad and feeling ripped off! We got one ride on a roller coaster and had to deal with horrible crowds,non-caring employees, security that had no ambition to see that guests were behaving themselves or adhiring to the dress codes, and are now about $100.00 lighter in the pockets.

My suggestions to the Six Flags corp: if you are going to advertise a family environment, then make an effort to do so! Yes, parks get busy, but there is no excuse for allowing welll over 300 school groups into the park at one time. Time to think of the guests and not just making money.
And for the LOVE OF GOD....KICK OUT THE G** D**N RIFF-RAFF!
They are ruining the reputation of the park that could be really fun.

For those of you who may want to come this way to our parks....Lake Compounce is much more worth the travel.
