I've never seen those two rides in person but the Fireball which is a smaller carnival version of the 2 is insane with HUGE Gs at the bottom of the swing. Maybe those two are toned down or something.

The Fireball is the US version of a KMG Afterburner, and it kicks the Chance Revolution's (Claw & Revolution) butt, exspecailly with a skilled ride op. For the most part, I like pendulum rides, and have ridden enogh different ones to rate them:

1. KMG Afterburner
2. Mondial Revolution (PCW Psyclone)
3. Huss Giant Frisbee (PKI Daleruim)
4. Zamperla Nitro (Martin's Fantasy Island)
5. Huss Frisbee (SFNE Tomahawk)
6. Chance Revolution

Of course, it still is not my favorite flat, that would go to a good set of Flying Skooters.

Last time I rode the Wonder Wheel, the girl behind me freaked, like she didn't know what the swinging car sign meant.

Cyclonic - That Nitro at Marin's Fantasy was a little scary as it was not completely anchored to the ground. I wasn't sure if you had been to Martin's Fantasy Island because I didn't see you review any of their rides. What did you think of the Silver Comet? I know this is a flat thread but since so few people on the site have been there I'm just curious if you agree with my assessment.

I never knew Chance made Afterburner type rides. I know Zamperla made one, then again what ride hasen't Zamperla ripped off?

Do you know why there are two different names for the Afterburner rides made by KMG? Seem sorta silly to me.

I don't know, I think it is just a marketing thing.

The Chance Revolution is a larger ride, more capacity, and built for park operations, while the KMG ride is built as a portable. The KMG ride is really amazing though. They have a very powerful motor on that thing, and it can go for very slow to full tilt in a flash, and full tilt is just awesome.

Getting back to ferris wheels, Hershey has taken down their Giant wheel and taken it off of the list on the website. It is rumored that there are only 2 double giant wheels and 2 triple giant wheels left in the world.

Is the one at Navy Pier in Chicago on that list?

I would think so... it is 150 feet tall and is a gandola wheel... so I would think that it is.

Going back on something previously, the ferris wheel at Navy Pier in Chicago is not one of the few giant wheels in the world. The wheel at Hershey was a suspended rotating wheel, not like a true ferris wheel. Sorry to get your hopes up zjohn1998.

Do you really like tomohawk?

I dont really think theres much thrill in it. It spins kinda slowly, and it dosent really swing that high either...

Yes i do. THe 17rpm rotation spins just fast enuff to get some good G's. The ride is injoyable and the capacity is extreamly good.

Edit: I really like the ride ocean motion at CP. And getting back to what people where saying about ferris wheels earlier. The Ferris Wheel at CP seems almost as tall as wicked twister. I dont remember how tall they said it was. But that is the slowest ferris wheel that I have ever been on, so I would rate it much lower than some faster smaller ones that I have been on.

If you like Top Spins, you should check out the Top Spin at Astroland. I heard somewhere that they flipped the car 14 times in a row on one occasion.

Now if only the top spin @ SFGAm would do that. You're lucky to get 5 flips.

You're lucky to get 2 flips on the Top Spin at SFGAdv. Hang Time at Dorney is much better, and of course the one at Astroland is just sadistic.

Is that the one they have at the York Fair?

You have not truely ridden a Top Spin until you have ridden the evil Top Spin at Coney Island. Total insanity.

I believe it was. I think Reithoffer Shows does York, and they carry one with them (that is the one I ride every year here in Philly.

The company that does the Harri9sburg Fair (as well as Williamsport) hauls a Top Spin 2 with them that is supposed to be outstanding. Really, if you like flats, the different fairs and carnivals are what you want to hit up, some great rides out there.

Yeah, because I remember riding something like the Claw at the York Fair, but it seemed to go nearly twice as fast and higher than it. I haven't gone out to the Harrisburg Fair in ages though, is it on a weekdays in summer? If so, that would be awesome since my Dad works in Harrisburg and I could just spend the day there.

For modern flats, Tomahawk is my favorite as well. In the classics department it would be a three way tie between Flying Scooters, Bubble Bounce, And The Whip.

Another great flatride is Evolution. I've only been on the Fabbri version though. I did do a review for the Nauta Bussink Evolution that used to be at Great Adventure though, which I never went on, terrible huh . But I need to go on one of those now. I was too nauseous to go on it the ONE time I saw it running at SFGAdv. That was one of 2 Nauta Bussink Evolutions in the world I now found out, it was an ex-road model. The other is named "Imperator" and it's traveling in European fairs. Their a beast of a ride visually.
