I just found out the hard way that when you got to a park for the whole day bring some Gold Bonds...cause you will probably get sore from walking around and that can ruin the whole day in the parq.

I never get tired of walking when I'm in a park. Maybe it's because of the flat land.

yea i know what youre talking about. last year when i went to dorney for coastermadness, we stayed the whole day from 8 till 11:30. yup, a full 15.5 hours at dorney. it was crazy and if youve been to dorney, you know there a huge hill in the middle of the park. i was sore for day later but it was all worth it

I know exactly what you mean...I wore jean shorts to cedar point and rode a water ride (Snake River Falls) and the shorts kept riding up and by the end of the day i was sore everywhere from walking and sunburn, water rides + jean shorts= BAD IDEA at CP!

I usually feast on junk food at a park to always keep me just on the edge of a sugar rush, lol, but chaffing on the legs from wet shorts can become a problem when on water rides...ouch....

I keep the water rides for the end of the day. If you so choose, ride them in the middle, go out the vehicle and change, this also provides a nice opportunity for a cheap, ice cold refreshing beverage (if pop or water, you can take it back to the park with you).

Back in the days of my youth, money was low with many families. The water rides were the first things to do in a park. Then after you change you shorts/pants, the family would sit down in the parking area and have a picnic lunch. Just a side note...

I never though about that, but most parks are on relatively flat ground. Except Dollywood and SFOG (of the ones Ive been to)

Yup - it's definitely all about sandals. During the early and late days of park operations, I'll just wear them with socks - okay, so I'm a nerd - that way, if I get the itch for a water ride, the socks are off, and my feet are dry in no time.

When I got soaked at the Killer Whale show at SFWoA, I just got on Serial Thriller and that dried me off pretty good.

I've always found that the best drying-off ride is the classic swing - you know, the one that lifts and oscillates. That way, front and back get dried off, and the line is usually pretty short.
