I agree with all of this, except for shorter lines. The lines for certain rides move very slowly, like on TR, SoB, FoF, and Top Gun. The only complaint I have about PKI is that it's lacking a great modern steel coaster.

Yeah, but the price is a bit steep. A SF pass is like half the price.

Big Red- Yeah, thoes certain lines usualy are not very good especialy Tomb Raider and FoF. Also, I agree that they need a good steel coaster... I whould not mind if they closed Racer and built a hyper or closed Vortex and built a B&M Floorless or Flyer or something but that whould probaly not be needed because the park still has unused land... If PKI had the same ammount of coasters as CP I think it whould defently be rated as the best park.

It wouldn't be the ammount, but the types and the quality of them.

Quantity is everything in this business. For me, I choose a park with a great amount of coasters over a park with very few.

And plenty of it. I think they could easily take the record for the most coasters.

I have to agree that cedar point is the best thrill park in the world. It has everything to make a trip there exciting and fun. 16 roller coasters, lots of flat rides, good shows, a water park right next to it, the beautiful location right on the beach, very clean and well cared for, hardly ever do they close a ride (except TTD), and they always keep the lines moving. Not to mention this park is huge, and they have their own hotels right on the property. What can I say, CP in my opinion is the best of the best when it comes to thrill parks.

But it'll take lots of time and money, eventually it will happen.

Yes it will take time (and money) but I agree it will happen... CP is starting to run low on land while PKI still has lots and notice the first word in PKI- it is operated by a rich movie company- Paramount. Also I am sure it helps with it being the Paramount Park w/ the best overall attendance.

But then again, you never know what CP has up their sleeve. They can always extend the park into the parking lot, by moving the lot. That'll give 'em plenty of room for expansion.

Ah, the old "CP is running out of land fast!" rumor. Cedar Point does not have a space problem (TM). Look at an overall view of CP - they have tons of land left. Parks like Indiana Beach have a space problem, not CP. Also, even with PKI being operated by a rich movie company, they have gotten as many attractions as other parks have, have they?

Could they really do that?

True, but what you're paying for is well worth it. It is a little steep, but think about the quality CP offers.

They could build a parking garage, it would give a ton of space.

And create lots of traffic...I was thinking about a parking on the mainland, with a monorail system connecting to the park. Sooner or later, they will be short on room. Only time will tell what they'll do.

3r1c- Sure CP has more land but PKI has a whole lot more. My guess is at most CP chould fit 3 , mayby 4 more coasters in the park. That whould be at most 20 coasters. PKI has 12 coasters and a lot more space. Also PKI chould buy land around the park for even more space and CP really can't with it being surrounded by water.

CP could always go over the water, move hotels off the property, move the water park and challenge park etc. There's endless posibilities. Heck, CP doesn't even look as crammed as Hersheypark. Besides, look what coaster designers can do to fit things in (Storm Runner, Great Bear, Cornball Express etc.)

The land around PKI is forest, right? This might upset the locals, and cause problems. They would also have to buy it for a heck of a price since whoever is owns it won't charge for it cheap. They'll want to conserve as much space as possible.

I agree, Cedar Point has way more rides than Hersheypark, but it doesn't looked crammed at all. I think that moving some of the parking lot to the main land would be a good idea.

But that whould mean no way to get to the park but boat- and lines might get long for that because a lot of people will be there. CP is also much bigger than HP, that is why it does not look cramped. Also 3r1c the main hotel was built in the arly 1900's so I dought they whould rebuild it.

putting a three story parking garage over 1/3 the existing park lot allows 2/3 of the old lot to be used for expansion of the park and will not create any additional traffic. I also like the idea of building a pier into the lake for added room. I don't think they can move the Breakers, I think it's an historical landmark. I doubt they would raze the campsite as this makes the property unique if it's not an economic necessity

Actually monorails, buses, and boats as you said, could be used to transport guests. That's my point - CP has more space than HP, and while HP is seriously low on space look what they did. CP isn't even halfway there. Also, what about the newer hotels? Why can't they move those. I'm sure not all of them were built in the 1900's.

CP can not construct things over the lake. A pier is out of the question.

They don't own the land. Plus, in the winter that pier would freeze and cause major problems, just like the one at Euclid Beach, another park located on the Lake Erie coast.
