Dollywood competed with Alton Towers and Phantasialand to win the 2010 Applause Award at the IAAPA Expo. I had forgotten that Dollywood was a finalist back in 2006 but lost out to Islands of Adventure.

You can read more from this local news story.

It was a good call. She also spoke at the event. Trying to find a full awards listing

Those are three amazing parks, but I would say of the three Dollywood is behind in every catergory except food.

I was lucky enough to be in the front row at the event. It was pretty cool.

While I've never been to Dollywood, from what I have seen from the park it is definitely deserving of this award.

I dunno.. I think Dollywood at least has better live entertainment and probably better staff [I don't remember PHL's people being anything special, but then again, I don't speak deutch ]. I obviously can't speak for Alton but I have no real issue with Dollywood winning the award

You could be right. Didnt have time for entertainment course I didnt do the shows at Dollywood either. Service at Dollywood is good. No matter what all three parks are top notch and help me remember why I like this hobby. If only the chains would realize the real keys to a good park.
