I was just wondering if any of you have been to any of them because they look pretty interesting from the images I have seen and descriptions I have read.

I was going to go to this one but I really didn't have the money. I will be going next year.

It's quite the event.

How much does it cost to go to one of these?

I'm not sure you can get in without being a vendor or press, I got a press pass when I went.. been a while I don't recall all the rules.

I've gone a couple times, and to be honest, I think its something that is pretty boring. The special effects booths were 10x cooler than the ride booths.

yeah, its expensive if you go by yourself. Something like $300 or so for a membership.

I sleep, drink beer, and ride coasters. That is a summary of my life.

Bob pretty much said the answer. you can go as a non member but you pay extra. if you sign up early you can get in a few a Couple hundred. But last minute is close to 400. Just to sign up as a individual member of IAAPA is $365 dollas.

It's a trade show. while there are presentations and some rides set up, It's about sales and making contacts for parks. So you may not get much out of it as simply an observer.

Wow! That's pretty expensive for the single event. I thought it was a lot cheaper.

no There may be some Cheaper Friday Tickets but I haven't seen anything on them have heard of them. Like said it's a Trade event. There are other conferences and presentations you as a park would hit that are offered but as an individual you wouldn't need to bother.

I went there once and I found it pretty interesting. Still, I probably wouldn't go again as I have more fun at a regular amusement park.

It is just a different part of the industry. You get to see things behind the scenes and meet the different companies. If it isn't your kind of thing, then that is cool.
