Quote:

Employees -- Disney calls them "cast members" -- have been aware of the issue for some time now and so discretely leave empty seats in boats carrying heavy riders. But backups persist, and in some cases no one realzes there's a problem until boats stop emerging from the ride.

Disneyland is putting the ride in drydock for 10 months to make it ship-shape again. The boats will be replaced with more buoyant models, and the new flume will be one inch deeper. Work will begin in January.

That's both sad and well kinda amusing... 25 pounds in 50 years as a country is a pretty staggering number...

I really need to start hitting the gym more

Disneyland's Small World is in dire need of rehab anyway. The Magic Kingdom version is much fresher looking. The one thing Disneyland's Small World has over MK's is that the Disneyland version has an facade that looks amazing when lit up at night. MK's is just tucked inside some building, and doesn't have the awesome exterior.

^ Yes, not exactly a new storyline, but an amusing new result. That is hysterical!

Never been on the Disneyland version, but I have been on the Magic Kingdom one and it looked very nice and fresh when I rode it 7 years ago. This certainly is an interesting and quite amusing story though.
