Flying Unicorn is totally a good ride and deserves mentioning as a great combo if you are an IOA fanboy. Of course I have rode it. Everyone is entitled to there own opinion, but you have taken this topic and turned it into another place for you to show your fanboydom. Whats next a rant about SF.

Axman, that list is a joke. Regardless of your fanboyness, there is no way that anyone (at least on this site) will give you any credibility for stating that every CP coaster is great, and can be easily paired with another coaster to form a dynamic duo. Corkscrew and TTD?! Are you kidding? I could maybe see TTD and MF, but Corkscrew? CCMR and Maverick? I think we have reached a new level of fanboydom this time.

And while you are entitled to your opinion, I completely disagree with your statement about every park with 2+ coasters having good pairs. Just because a park has multiple coasters does not mean that they have great coasters that mesh well, or that can be paired to form great duos.

i.e. Darien Lake. Valley Fair may not even have one good coaster. Waldameer which I love would not make this thread, nor Adventureland Iowa which is in my Favorite Park top ten list.

Back on track

Thunder coaster and Speed Monster at Tusenfryd is pretty good also.

TTD and MF
Wild Thing and Renegade(I know it's not out yet but its probably going to be the best combo VF has)
speed and roller coaster(name now?) las vegas rides.

Those are pretty much all that I have that i've been on/to.

Renegade and Riptide will be the best combo there. That flat was fun.

Goliath and Bat and LA Ronda. B&Ms are always worth mentioning.

I'm not really a CF fanboy. I'm an "every amusemet park except Six Flags Magic Mountain" fanboy. I try to bring out, or at least describe, the best in every amusememnt park i've gone too.

So far, on this site, I've been labeled: Universal Fanboy, Disney Fanboy, and even Cedar Fair Fanboy. Since the only amusement park I every criticize beyond reason, is SFMM, I've decided to give myself my own label. Maybe I just like amusement parks better than most people, because I can't help but be compelled to rate every park I go to as very good, or vurtually perfect. SFMM is the only park that has ever passed as mediocre for me, under my standards.

That's fine that you believe that, but when you list every coaster at a park, even the craptacular ones, it makes your opinion mean very little. The idea was to name the best combo at a park. Should have been simple.

1) Alpengeist and Apollo's Chariot
2) Twister and Phoenix
3) Kumba and Montu (sorry Sheikra)
4) El Toro and Nitro
5) Phantom's Revenge & Thunderbolt

Currently I wouldn't say Cedar Point has a GREAT duo. Magnum's a more complete ride than TTD and MF. A future best combo nominee may be Magnum and Maverick.

Stretching the rules a bit, but Hades and Avalanche are two GREAT reasons to get to the Dells if you haven't been.

1) Dorney Park (Steel Force and Hydra the Revenge)
2) Paramount King's Dominion (Volcano, the Blast Coaster and Hurler)
3) Busch Gardens Europe (Apollo's Chariot and Alpengeist)

Cool topic! If I had to come up with some good 1-2 punches, they'd be:

1. MF & TTD - CP (I may get reamed for that one, but I don't care, I just think they're an amazingly thrilling pair!)
2. El Toro & Nitro - SFGAdv (Simply phenominal!)
3. Phantom's Revenge & Thunderbolt - KW (I think my home park represents itself pretty well with these!)
4. Phoenix & Twister - Knoebels (Best Wooden 1-2 I've ridden at 1 park to date....although a May trip to Holiday World may change that! )
5. Storm Runner & Lightning Racer - HP (Best combo at one of my favorite parks)

There could be many more combos that I would find better, I just haven't ridden them quite yet (i.e. Busch Gardens Europe/Africa, IOA, KI, and several Six Flags parks).

I'd rather be coaster riding!

o dag, i almost forgot a little heralded 1-2 powerhouse for wood fans...

wild one and roar at 6fAmerica. lots of people won't see the appeal of those two, but for wood lovers it's an easy call. they're both well maintained and above average woodies.

I think Thunderbolt and Superman (SFNE0 are a nice combo, a little classic with some good air time and S:ROS a world class coaster.

Also GASM and B&R:TC at Great Adventure was a pretty good combo, but I have yet to ride KK, ET, or Medusa

Wild One has appeal for me, but Roar certainly doesn't.

Roar is a solid woodie, but without Millenium Flyer trains it is a little bit too rough. I've been on all three of the GCI's that use PTC trains, and as I recall Roar was the roughest (although I haven't ridden Gwazi in a long time, and aparently that ride has gotten really bad). My favorite was definately Wildcat, although it's getting Millenium Flyer trains for this season so it should be even better.

Wild One was broken when I went ot SFA, so I can't really comment on how good of a coaster that is.

Off topic, but I can't wait to see how Hersheypark's Wildcat will ride by the time it gets the Millennium Flyers. Wildcat wasn't that bad of a coaster with the PTC trains as long as you don't have your back against the seat or that'll be where the roughness comes in.

Is it really? That sucks, I HATE millenium flyers.

B&M is so over rated all they did was steal the suspended coaster idea from Arrow and put a few loops in it.

Prefabricated Track is for people who can't handle a real wooden coaster.

Why do you hate Millenium Flyer trains? They articulate better than PTC trains and give a smoother ride. I mean PTC makes a really good product, but Millenium Flyer trains are better suited for GCI's twisted layouts than a PTC trains would be.

I completely agree. One just has to compare Lightning Racer and Wildcat to see what a difference the trains can make (in my opinion, at any rate).

I really enjoyed Lightning Racer over Wildcat. Both are good rides, but the MF trains do a much better job of menuvering. However, between Roar at SFDK and Wildcat, Wildcat is better, dispite the fact that it has PCTs. SFDK's Roar is a bit tame, but the trains are nevertheless comfortable.

Thunderhead, on the other hand, is better than Wildcat and Roar, and about on par with Lightning Racer. KY Rumbler, I'm sure, will be an other good example of MFs. I can't wait to ride it this April.
