What's the best non-coaster ride that lets you catch a view? This includes ferris wheels, space spirals, parachute drops, Condor, etc. Doesn't matter if it's defunct or existing, or if it's fast or not. For me, it'd be Space Spiral at CP because every other attraction is ahead of you, not to mention Lake Erie which is behind you.

I always liked Tommarowland Transit Authority.

The only ferris wheel that I've been on at a park was at Dollywood. It didn't have nice view of the park, but it did have a good view of the Smokies.

Best:
Ferris wheels - Hobo Ferris Wheel(defunct) Wonderful View of Lincoln NH and the White Mountains
Observation Tower - Coney Sky Tower, AstroLand It's the best way to see Cyclone and the board walk.
Parachute drops - SFOG Great view of the park and Atlanta.
Condor - The Great Escape up on the hill you heel taller then you are. good view of the western area.
Sky Ride - Sky Way BGW very picaresque and a relaxing ride across the park.
Ski Lift - Lack Compounce and amazing view on the way back you can see the lake, park and far off into the distance while your nearly 800 ft up.
Tower ride - Dragons Descent, Funtown USA tallest tower in NE on a clear day you can see Mt washington in NH Portland ME, and miles of seas cost.

i'd say the compounce sky ride. they have a lot of trust that their patronage won't do stupid sh*t while on that thing.

an evening ferris wheel ride, such as that at morey's, is a great experience of carnival lights on one side and the dark mysterious ocean on the other.

oh ppl do stupid sh*t on the Lake Compounce Skyride every once in awhile. This summer someone dropped a lit cigarette off of it, and it caused a small forest fire. Luckily no one was hurt tho.

Colossus at SFNE also had a great view of the CT river valley, but they took it down for understandable reasons. I wish they'd replace it with a parachute drop or similar ride.

Hersheypark's Observation Tower gave a great view from 330 feet of the whole park. I also love Dorney Park's Dominator, Cedar Point's Power Tower, & Islands of Adventure's Dr. Doom's Fearfall since they're all very exhilarating & all three of them give me a few seconds of enjoying all of the amazing park's skyline.

The Kiss Tower is decent, but I really liked the Giant Wheel at Hershey better.

The Giant Wheel was decent. I really didn't like seeing that classic ride demolished.

Giant Wheel at Morey's Piers
Astro Tower at Astroland

The Giant Wheel at Hershey was cool too, I'm glad I got on it before they took it down.

I'd easily have to say Paramount King's Dominion's Eiffle Tower. Since it towers over the park and is near the front you get outstanding views of the park and all of their coasters. Also, you can use it to see where the crowds are and aren't.

I don't know if this counts, but I liked Drop Zone @ PKI because it had a great view of a great park. Of course the best part is the shocking drop after having been sucked into the picturesc view. This goes for Acraphobia and Pit Fall as well.

As for actual panoramic observation towers, PKI's Iffel Tower is by far the best I've been on because you're outside in the fresh air, not in a round, stuffy, narrow corridor. Plus you can stay atop the Iffel Tower as long as you want. An other thing is that it's easier on the eyes than a random pole sticking out of the ground.
(Yes I have a lot to say about Iffel Tower)

London Eye - London England.

Awesome views on a clear day. The cabins are even air conditioned.

Observation Tower: Astrotower at Coney Island.
Ferris Wheel: Giant Wheel at Cedar Point.
WONDER Wheel (yes, there is a difference): Wonder Wheel at Coney Island.
Sky Ride: Scenic Skyway at Knoebels.

I will always regret skipping out on the Sky Ride at Lake Compounce - the company I was with was NOT interested, although I sure as hell was.
