What is the most best looking roller coaster EVER? Doesn't matter what size, or even if it's rough or lousy.

The most beautiful coaster - ever? Without doubt, the ever-so-much-discussed Crystal Beach Cyclone. It's picture is actually currently set as my profile pic on myspace, it's so poetically beautiful. The Aeroplane Dips takes a close second.

Modern day? Honestly, I can't say that I've seen enough coasters in my time to make that choice. Now, if we were talking about carousels, that would be a different story...

El Toro is by far the most beautiful that I have seen in person.

I've only been to three major parks (SF Great Adventure, Hersheypark, and Cedar Point), but so far, I have to agree with Hercules about El Toro. Unfortunately, there aren't really any good pictures of it online yet- they're all either construction pictures or computer-generated pictures created by SF- but take my word for it, it's absolutely breathtaking in real life. It honestly looks surreal, especially from the ferris wheel or chairlift. I hope SF keeps it that way for many years to come.

Also, I don't think this would qualify as one of the most "beautiful" coasters, but IMO Great Bear at Hershey is certainly one of the "coolest-looking" coasters, from the sleek, twisted black track to those crazy supports to the color of the trains.

why would you ask what is the most "beautiful" coaster in your title and then ask for the most "tempting" in your thread?

Although the ride blows, Mean Streak is beautiful.

Heh? There are plenty of pictures of El Toro online.

i agree on the CBCyclone. although i must say that it's a terrible beauty, with many bizarre angles and frizzy edges to it.

even more possessed of a rough beauty is traver's ultra obscure "zip", which lived at oak park, oregon. the only photos i've ever seen of that doozy are in the books "the incredible scream machine" and "traver: legends of terror".

both el toro and the white cyclone in japan are majestic modern beauties.

Millennium Force comes to mind as an especially optically-pleasing coaster. Dueling Dragons also look great, as do many woodies, but now I have failed at this thread's point to begin with...choosing one coaster. So I'll say Millennium Force and leave it at that, but know that the list of runners-up is quite extensive.

The "most beautiful" coaster HAS to be wooden.

I really dig John Allen coasters in white

Millennium Force's without a doubt the most tempting & most beautiful coaster ever. Lightning Racer's also a really beautiful coaster since its dueling twisted track makes the whole experience look crazy enough to even fathom the outcome. Dueling Dragons, Montu, Kumba, & Incredible Hulk are all also honorable mentions.

Whilst the coaster itself is rather a beautiful creation, the lakeside setting amongst the road and waterside sets it off as the Cedar Beauty.

Alright, here are the most beautiful coasters that I know of. Rebel Yell, Kingda Ka, Loch Ness Monster, El Toro, and White Cyclone. I haven't even been on R.Y., or W.C. yet. Maybe they're prettier in person?

I don't think any Steel coasters are beautiful from an aesthetic standpoint. Except maybe Gemini and that's because it is on a wood structure.

I think any GCI wood coaster is absolutely goregous, espeically at Hershey, due to the fantastic stations attached. Wildcat and Lightning Racer really look like rides out of the past. Mean Streak is also has a terrific structure, and I actually enjoyed that ride! In terms of steel, only Anaconda at PKD comes to mind. The setting only is lovely, but the color scheme is nice too.

I was hoping somebody else would bring up WC, the structure is so dense and pure white, it looks awesome. I can only imagine what it's like at night. Do they light it up with floodlights and chasers or anything?

I like Thunderhead. The color of the wood, plus the way it flows and curves with the terrain makes it look great from the top of the lifthill and from the station. They have high fences leading up to the ride, so you can't see it very well.

Boulder Dash also looks (from pictures and videos, mind you) to be a beautiful, mystical creation, meandering creatively through a densly wooded terrain.

Hercules or Great White. Great White has a nice shore location and it just has a picturesque look to it. Hercules only looked nice from across the lake facing it's massive drop and wide turn, the station side was just a wall of jumbled wood.

Out of the US I'll go with White Cyclone.

Though...even though it's not a coaster...I think the "Bonner Breakdance No.2" beats em' all!

Yeah, that is quite the visual feast. I think it's way over-the-top, and the colors might be quite garish and nauseating in person, but it is an interesting ride nonetheless.

I beg to differ on the statement made by a few that the most beautiful coaster has to be wooden. IMO steel can be beautiful as well and nothing compares with the picturesque beauty of Kumba. The extra large loop around the lifthill, the cobra roll wrapped around the walking bridge, and the interlocking corkscrews that hug the ground all in a stunning tropical setting.

Honorable mentions go to: Incredible Hulk, Loch Ness Monster, Tenessee Tornado

I think the only thing that would be nauseating is the way they run that beast. I've seen a video of it and they run it for about 7 minutes with bairly any slow points.

Yeah I'd get sick very easily on that ride. I can't do tea cup type rides for too long without feeling awful for the rest of the day. But 7 minutes with barely any slow points! :puke:

Agreed about Kumba, and it looks even better now than in that picture that you linked because of its new paint job.
