I was thinking of building my own private amusement park, like Stricker's Grove in Ohio. And I thought about building my own wooden coaster, just like the owner, Ralph Sticker did with the Tornado and Teddy Bear coasters. I don't think the lumber will be a problem, but other parts like the chain drive and motor, roller coaster cars, controls, tracks, etc. Who would sell these parts and where?

Private companies, not something you could find very easily. Most of those parts are custom made nowadays. I'd look through the IAAPA trade shows and whatnot for things like that.

Not a bad idea you got there. look up wood coaster companies they could get you the track and moters. But Swimace hit it on the head IAAPA would be a great place to hit.

Good luck.

I just seen the backyard roller coaster from Jeremy Reid at his website. That was a great job.

Yeah like the man who built the Blue Flash and is currently building Blue 2 (is that the name). Was his name Allen, or something like that.

Wasn't the Blue Flash guy on National Geographic or some other channel? I think the show was Supercoasters. I need to see if lets people just show up and ride on it. Do I have to sign a waiver?

Yes, the man who built the Blue Flash was on National Geographic, and it was the show Supercoasters, although I'm sure he's been on tons of other shows too. I actually have Supercoasters taped, so I will write down what he said on the show and type it up for you. I can't do it right at this moment, but I will as soon as possible.

Look at the man on the left with the gray hair... That's an odd expression he has on his face...

Zippin Pippin only went for $2,500. I would have looked into that auction if you were really interested.

Yep, the buyer origionally just went there to buy one of the cars, and ended up with the whole coaster for the (IMO) jaw dropping ammount of under 3k.
