So how many of u have actually ridden a skycoaster and what do u think of them? I finally rode the one at Kennywood on the last day of the normal season and i loved it. It's realy not as scary as people think it is. The best part of it was riding for free lol (since i work at the park) i got to test ride with a few other people.

I haven't ridden one yet, just because I'm too cheap to pay for it.

I rode one at Kings Island some years ago, and even though it was priced rather highly, it was a whole lotta fun. Unique sensation - I swear that the craziest part of it is being pulled up to the pinnacle - and, of course, having to pull the release yourself. A fun experience.

I agree with larry I'm to cheap to ride one. I have rode a slingshot thing that shoots you in the air in a cage, witch was pretty cool.

I guess I also fit in that too Cheap group. They are way too much money. if soneone else were to pay I would ride.

I honistly think they are a waist of space in some parks. SFNE a couple ride or a coaster coudl prity much fit on that spot. but SFDL and LC have them build into places other rides can't fit so I don't mind.

How much do these things cost to ride nowadays? If I recall, it was about $25 or so for three of us to ride together - it was $15 for a single rider. Of course, this was in the dark ages, circa 1995-ish...

adrianha - I think inflation has set in I think it varies from $19-$29 for a single rider nowadays, depending on the locations. I think the price for three to rides varies from $30-$50. From all my trips I remember Kennywood offering the best prices.

Sometimes you can get early bird specials, but they seem way to expensive. IMO

I would be willing to try one sometime, even though I'm afraid of heights, if they weren't so expensive. I'll stick to the coasters.

I'll stick with the coasters. You get the same feeling I think on a flying coaster. I think it should be included in park admission price if it's in the park. This is only my opinion.

Yes,the price to ride the Skycoaster, is expensive. Though, I think that reason, the price is high, and not included in the park admission price, is for insurance reasons. The parks that have a Skycoaster ride, have to have a big insurance policy on this type of ride, for safety reasons.

I'm too cheap to ride a Skycoaster AND also a bit afraid to ride one. lol

I also haven't been on a Slingshot or one of those propeller looking rides (I forget the name but I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.) But I'd go one both of them before the Skycoaster.

Wow this thread has come back from the dead, and Larry and myself have both tried one. they are awesome, feel nothing like a flying coaster, and should always be an upcharge, because capacity is terrible.

Last year I went on the Dare Devil Dive at SFGAdv. It was pretty fun, and dangling up 160+ feet in the air and dropping is a unique experience that's a lot different from a roller coaster. However, after the initial fall it loses its intensity almost right away. IMO it's the type of thing you should go on just once for the heck of it because it's cool but the upcharge (I went with one other person, I think we paid over $50) is ludicrous.

Although I think there's one in Florida that's 300 feet tall.. hmm.. maybe I'd go on that one

I love the skycoaster! I rode the one at Wild Adventures. It is great to be flying through the air with two of your friends while you get a breathtasking glance at the park and all the animals. Definitely worth the price.

Rode one at Six Flags over Georgia. The scariest part is being hoisted up and releasing yourself. It was worth it, though.
