What is your favorite haunted house?

Mine is the Haunted Mansion at Knoebels. That ride is scarier than a hyper-coaster.

ride - Knoebels Haunted Mansion
walk through - Haunted Manor at Seaside Heights

Frankenstein's Castle at IB is great but more a combo fun house/haunted house

Spook House - Keansburg Amusement Park

It's not very scary but it's an original 1931 Pretzel installation, it's a total classic.

Knoebels has the best overall haunted house, but both Trimpers' and Rehoboth Funland's are very, very close at its heels.

The only haunted houses I have been on, are the Haunted Mansion at Knoebels, and the Haunted Mansion at the Magic Kingdom.

Dante's Inferno at Astroland

Seriously though, the Haunted Mansion at the Magic Kingdom is amazing and has really stood the test of time. The effects are still awesome and the ride gets better and better with each ride. A masterpeice.

Haunted Mansion at MK. Such a classic, and the room where all the ghosts are dancing is just amazing.

if you see my avatar you can see its Knoebels Haunted Mansion, and MK's Haunted Mansion is very close second. Knoebels is great becuase its very long and has so much to it, and a little freaky! MK is alot of fun and is classic while being pretty state of the art.

I hear the haunted mansion (Haunted House?) ride at the Myrtle Beach Pavilion is great as well, I wish I rode it when I was up in Myrtle Beach.

My second favorite haunted house is the Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World. It is a long, classic ride, and has great special effects.

I actually have a few catigories, because it is so difficult to compare some with others.

Classic Darkride- Haunted Mansion at Knoebels. Everything about it is fantastic, from the stunts all working to the fantastic ending.

Modern Darkride- The Adventures of Spiderman at IOA. A modern marvel (pun intended), with outstanding effects, a decent storyline, and great detail.

Walkthrough- Haunted House at Enchanted Forest. A great use of classic stunts and modern technolegy puit into a long, complex walkthrough in a reletivly unknown little park.

Dante's Inferno was surely the most interesting ride at Coney Island It seemed like the whole ride cost $200 to build, although my sister and I had a blast and rode it quite a few times.

The Haunted Hotel at the Myrtle Beach Pavilion is a very fun ride. It was redone sometime in the mid to late 90's, and when all the effects are working it's a great little dark ride. One part of the ride still scares me every time.

To say the least! I was out at Astroland a couple of weeks back, and the facade is looking weirder than ever. Lamentably, they've gotten rid of the dude with his head popping off - one of my all time favorite mural details. No naked boobs, either - an element I consider a true hallmark of the well-dressed Coney attraction.

The Mine of Lost Souls at Canobie Lake Park, is a nice, classic dark ride.

It is a nice one, suitable for the entire family. No matter how many times I ride it, there is one part that still scares me!

The shaking Golila animatronic costs easly 8 times that alone. and they have two such effects in it.

The Egyptian one, that has a character jump up. Anything that jumps out at me suddenly, always gets me.

Just after that is the Scean with the Severed head that laughs. they boxed the animatronic up at the end of the last season 2003. guests were complainign that the animatronic was insensitive given the atacks on media people in Iraque.

Disneyland Paris has one of the best Haunted House rides that I have ever been on. Yes it is similar to the original in Disneyland California but much more grusum. The skelotons dont look fake. Skin is rotten off and blood is every where. You can almost smell the rotten flesh. Phontom Manor is narated in French by Vincent Price. What a great chioce for a narator. The only down side to this haunted house is the fack that they warn you about every thing that is going to happen.

That's a bummer, ruining a ride. They should have a section, in which you are warned about the ride, and a section that wants the ride to be a surprise.

Ad- Here I art! Here I art! Better late than never,eh? I have to weigh in with you. I do love the Haunted Mansion in WDW but for classics, its the Knoebels/Funland/Trimpers triumvirate!

However, since Halloween is the bestest holiday ever, I really dig all these Fright Fests and things.

PS- I do love Kennywood too-the Ark is a classic. I'd also have to say that Dante's Dungeon, which I rode in Wildwood a few weeks ago, wasn't bad. It could use more live actors, though.
