...are you making plans to attend the NJ State Fair this summer? Two days away, and we're definitely going at some point. If you check this message, and want to try and set up a date to meet, that would be great. Hope to see you!

Adriahna-
How long does the fair last? I got a couple days off next week and we are going to SFGA anyway, so maybe we'll swing by there as well.

It's up and running from this weekend, through July 10. It's a lot of fun - best to go in the evening if possible, when the lights are all running. Definitely an experience, and LOTS of trailer funhouses and several same darkrides.

We'll be going on July 3rd, by the way...

Is it at the Meadowlands? Maybe we'll check it out next week after Six Flags, either Tuesday or Thursday.

Yup - it's right in the parking lot of the Meadowlands sports complex - you can't miss it with all of the rides, lights and such. It's a big affair, to say the least.

Updated to say two things:

1) The fair is in the Giants Stadium parking lot, and
2) You definitely want to go with the Pay One Price option if it's available - check their website for the admission schedule. The ride tickets are pricey, and if you're wanting to run around and ride a bunch of stuff, the POP is the way to go. I think it's about $19.75, somewhere in that neighborhood.

Dah! I wish I saw this sooner, I just went the other day!

Serves me right for not checking this site often...

Horizons - did you see that loony walk-through with the rubber, mechanical slide? That was a BLAST, and I'm hoping that it makes it back next year...

Yeah, I made a note to go on it but by the time I remembered to go on, I didn't even feel like standing.

You know, that fair is progressively getting worse I think. I remember one year they had Tango, Magnum (Mondial 'Shake'), KMG Fireball, and Space Roller! This year there were no 'big' rides, almost all filler rides as I call them.

Fully agreed - it just wasn't quite the same as last year, and definitely not on the level of two years ago. A shame - I was just at Knoebels with Cyclonic this weekend (cool dude, by the way), and we were talking about the KMG Fireball-Afterburner, and that I had passed up on it last year, after a particularly crazy experience on the Zipper. If I had only known, I would have passed up the latter, in favor of the former - I LOVED Knoebels' new Fandango, and can only imagine how much fun the Fireball must be.

Hey Adriahna- sorry I couldn't make it last weekend. I'm glad you guys had a good time and that you enjoyed Fandango. When I rode the Flyer the weekend before, I didn't see that ride op that you know. Maybe he's out for surgery?

Cyclonic bumped into him at the park on Saturday - he was on litter duty (which is a CRIME as far as I'm concerned, as he really gets into the Flyer experts) - I was wondering myself, when he's up for the operation.
