Yeah, now that I think about it, Fandango takes the cake for me so far as well. I was suprised how fun that darn thing was, and the pops of airtime made it a great flat ride (yet another one for Knoebels)

One coaster that should not be overlooked IMO is Powder Keg. That coaster looks like it's a lot of fun

I gave it honorable mention b/c it is a remodeled ride and not an original concept, plus I don't think it will be as good as the coasters and rides mentioned earlier.

I absolutely LOVED Fandango. I'd really love the chance to try the new Maxair as well.

Since Cedar Point is the only park I have been to this year with a new ride I am going to say Maxair

I liked Fandango more than MaxAir. The sensations on MaxAir were not as strong as Fandango. Although MaxAir restraints were more comfortable.

I can't really tell ya'll what I think's the best new ride for 2005 is until I ride them. I'll be riding Hydra: the Revenge, SheiKra, MaxAir, & maybe Fandango this yr. Based on what I've seen & researched, I think that SheiKra will be the best new ride for 2005 simply b/c of it being the 1st B&M Dive Machine coaster in the US & the fact that it looks like it's running great. They only need to finish on the theming for it & it'll definitely be a world class coaster. I hope that they'll have the construction for the theming done b/f I'll be riding it in about less than 3 weeks. Hydra: the Revenge will also get my recognition for being a unique floorless. I can't wait to ride it sometime in July or August.

I didnt even ride Maxair but since it was the only new ride at Cedar Point and Cedar Point is the only park i have been to this year i chose Maxair. I was just going by what my friends said which is probably a bad thing.

Well I've actually ridden my top choice for 2005 and that ride is SheiKra. The drop blew me away and the entire coaster delivered a great ride experience.

Never mind i answered my own question by searching it on google. It looks really good and the part where you go through the water looks really awesome.

Even though i have not rode it but from what i have heard about it, i am going to say that SheiKra is the best new ride of 2005. What is it with the new rides this year, some of them have really weird names like SheiKra and Kingda Ka.

That's what makes new rides very unique & interesting. I love rides w/unique names b/c that usually means that there's a great theme to it too. Sheikra's an African bird & so it has an African theme to it. The Kingda Ka, along w/their newly themed Golden Kingdom, has a jungle theme. That just makes you want to ride them more since you can only experience that one unique ride at that park.

How come this one keeps getting gobbled up in these kinds of conversations? I'll admit that it looks kind of boring and lame, but I'm really interested in hearing someone review it. I think it looked a little better in the videos before it came out. I wasn't really overly excited about it.

In terms of this years new rides:
I would have to say that the best coaster out of the three that I have been on (Hydra, Kingda Ka and Mr. Six's Pandamonium) - The winner for me is Kingda Ka eventhough the hype has not lived up to anything for any of them. I'm just going by the ride here. And now that Kingda Ka is down for an extended period of time, I'll have to branch off and go with something else. Since Sheikra is getting mixed reviews, and it doesn't look overly interesting to me, I'm going with Hades as what just looks to me as the best for 2005.

Now as far as everything new that I have been on, I will have to say that Fandango is really the winner so far. That was a huge surprise. So yeah, I have been on 4 NEW FOR 2005 rides. The Screamin' Swing at Dorney is on the list as something that I'll get on. Also, there are a few on the list that I am very hopeful for: Curse of DarKastle and MaXair.

Well, the best flat out of the parks I'm going to visit this year is obviously going to be Maxair, as GL, Conneaut and Waldameer don't have any new flats for 2005.

The best rides for 2005 are Sheikra, Expedition Everest, Hades, and all the others.

^^I like all the others. So every ride is the best ride. coasterwom also plays sports where they don't keep score so we are all winners
