Not enough tree cover? What does that have to do with anything. No. It is not that. It just have the corporate feel. It has been transformed into a nice, family atmosphere mid-sized park, into a Cedar Fairized mid-sized park. That is all. It has nothing to do with trees.

Personaly the tree cover has allot to do with the parks quality in my mind.

anyways What intitals a Mid sized Ceder fair park over a mid sized ausment park. is it the rides. the food, the service? because jsut ssayign it makes littel sence since unfortunalty I havn't been to a CF owned or operatied park.

I also enjoy good tree cover which is one of the reasons I find universal movie so dull to look at.

The people at Worlds of Fun are seeing which it is like to be a Cedar Fair park too. Scroll down, 5th picture. That is what makes it official.

Hersey is better, Dorney feels very commercial now. Hersey feels like a traditional family owned park. Even near Great Bear where it is crammed, the atmosphere feels very traditional with a state of the are invert wissing by. Dorney has nice flats but there coasters dont really move me I hope they dont start going b&m crazy. Not that anything is wrong with B&M they just get a little repetative and that will really make Dorney feel more commercial. Hersey just needs a nice size hyper and they will have a more complete collection of coasters.

I'm sorry that I doubted you mrceagle and coaster05, but I have realized your points. I went to Dorney today and with the building of Hydra, it forced one of my favorite bathrooms (it has to do with a Hercules thing) that used to have complete tree cover to be completely out in the open and with no trees. It just isn't the same anymore. I get what you are saying.

Thanks Herc

For me a park needs to have a good amount of trees to really help its appearance. It also dramitcally cuts down on the heat also.

I found this to be the 5th pic down

So what is wrong with this. two trach barils. somewhat thin walk way. simingly full grown trees on either site.

The thing about trees is it makes you feel like your really inside the park and you really feel like your in another world. Busch gardens is great for this effect The use of trees is not just for shade. Trees and winding midways are so when you are in a certain area in the park they block the veiw of seeing too far down a midway, so each section feels very seperated and creates a different feel around each corner. Not enough trees opens the view and all you see is pathways, supports, benches, signs, and trashcans. This is why Dorney looks like a concrete jungle. Trees are pure eyecandy along a midway.

That's basicly how I Look at it. but the shade is a large part.

FYI - I think Dorney Park might now have more trash cans per quare foot than CP. I was reminded of that with the WOF picture above

I feel those parks could never put too many cans in because there are always people who litter. Bottom line most parks would look twice as good if so many customers were not self absorbed a-holes

I tried to post something at around 5 this morning right after mrceagle's post up there but it didn't work.

Anyway, the picutre of Worlds of Fun is just that picture. A Cedar Fair park staple is the trash can with the similar logo on it, and believe me, once they get going they put them all over the place. Once I get my camera back to the state of being alive, I'll take pictures at Dorney. At that place, you turn the wrong way and you run into one.

It is not aesthically pleasing but it is a neccesity. I know they are thinking you know how many cans do we need to put up before people stop throwing crap in our flowers. That is funny though we could give out a prize for who can take a picture with the most cans.

LOL, Bob would win that hands down with the above photo. They sure are trying hard to get that point across huh, coaster05? I counted about 18 that I could see in that photo.

I found the 18 and I think two more blurry ones in the back. Like I said the only reason for so many trashcans is because of so many litterers.

I think that's the thing, 99.9% of people won't go back to the park the next day. It's not their home to keep clean. Does anyone else think that may be the philosophy behind that? (not that I agree with it, thats just my amateur psychology going..)

No. I won't go with that exactly. I think that people don't have respect for things that aren't theirs. Growing up with business all around me, I have grown to observe and know this. Even when people go back continuously (say once or twice a week) they still treat things without respect. Whether it be children or adults, they all do the same things over and over again even after been asked or told not to. Using the bowling alley as my example, children (not stereotyping here, not all people do these things) constantly pull the toilet paper off of the rolls in the bathrooms, push gum into the carpet, purposly spill soda on the floor, leave garbage all over etc. Adults (once again not saying that everyone does this) kick the ball return when they are mad, punch the wall when they are mad, leave things a mess, literally throw bowling balls around inside and out into the parking lot when they get upset, tell my father that the lanes suck etc. Yet, they come back week after week during the fall and winter months to bowl in leagues or for fun. It is crazy.

I'm sure that parks are a little different in terms that not everyone goes there on a somewhat regular basis, but it all just boils down to respect for other people's property, which in general, people have very little. I'm not saying that everyone shows a lack of respect, but there are enough to ruin everything for everyone and an example of that is Dorney. I think that the garbage can thing is a little excessive, but it illustrates a point to everyone and does not give them any kind of reason to not use one of the cans that are there considering that every 3 steps there is one.

People just love to Bi%$h. As a customer it is ok to have the mentality of getting your money's worth. For example my debated trip to PKD where I felt ripped. However people have taken that attitude and changed it into since I paid all the workers have to pick up after me and I know have the right to be rude and live my day as an AS#%ole. I get upset at things occasionally but I try to handle issues as an adult and if I don't get my way(or even a response PKD) then I am not going to go to there park and ruin it. For my trouble I will not ever purchase another season pass and when they send my email this year to reorder I will tell them why and let my pocketbook empasis my point. On a side note to that day I figure that I would have probably bought at least 45 season passes for me, my wife and future child. So by today's prices that works out to 3,600 dollars. Maybe they will notice that a simple reply to my email would have been worth their time.

I enjoyed Dorney much more than Hershey just because of its atmosphere, and not to mention the two great steel coasters that dominate the park's skyline. Hershey, in my opinion is a jungle of walkways, rides, and other clutter.

If you guys think Dorney goes all out with its trach cans, you gotta see how Geauga Lake does it. I'll just say that on the Beaver Land Mine Ride (small family coaster) alone, there's two of them on the ride's platform. People have become lazy, plain and simple. Cedar Fair is doing what it has to do to keep its parks nice and tidy.

I agree about the lazy part and I still defned Hershey as a fantastic park, but both are great points.

Questions: Is there a Hershey town package deal? If so, what all does it include (i.e. tours, Hersheypark, etc)?
And what does this package deal costs?
