It is a fun, indoor mind scrambler. It moves around to all kinds of strobe lights and music, making it better than most scramblers.
APPEARANCE: Personally I find Mind Scramblers building to be an eyesore as it seems more like a circus tent than a dome. Also, last time I visited Playland the dome seemed very worn out and was quite dirty.
WAIT TIME: Walk On- The Mind Scrambler never had a wait like most of Playlands rides. Loading was quite slow, but most scramblers have slow loading so thats excusable. Capacity was that of an average scrambler, which is decent.
RIDE: Mind Scrambler was an incredible scrambler. I found the Mind Scrambler to be a pretty fast scrambler and the cycle was quite long (around 4 minutes). Also, the atmosphere really enhanced my ride, as while the light show was weaker than that of the Astrosphere, it was pretty good. Playland combined light effects, strobes, disco balls, mist, and mirrors to make a very cool effect that created a very good sensation of crashing into the other cars.
FINAL VERDICT: Mind Scrambler is my second favorite scrambler behind Funtowns Astrosphere. The fast speed combined with the long cycle and good light show created a thrilling and incredible ride experience. Its a shame that this ride is being removed due to the safety incidents, as it was really fun.
My girlfriend has fond memories of this ride and I was told to hit it up first thing and tell her how great it was. Well, all I had to say is that it is an average scrambler with the addition of some mediocre effects. Needless to say, she was not happy. This is a good concept, but it is not done well. The effects are there, but it isnt that great of a scrambler, first of all, and there are beams of light the shine through cracks and doors. If the ride were in complete darkness, it would be much better. Well, at least you get to get crunk to Lil John.
This is a great Scrambler ride, and when they turn out the lights it has really cool effects. There are strobe lights, mirrors, neon paint, and colorful lights on the ceiling.
OK - I admit I did have a morbid curiousity about this ride after the accident. The run it with most of the lights on now (I assune they were off before since there are strobes, black lights and glow in the dark paint. They triple checked every car to make sure the seatbelts were tight before the ride started. They ran the ride a long time and I didnt notice the bad music
I really didnt like this ride. I like scramblers, but this one is so stupid! I got a headache after going on this and i NEVER get sick from anything. I dont reccomend your money for this.
UGGHH! its in an enclosed building and i had no idea what i was paying for until i got in. then i found out it was just a scrambler with a bunch of mirrors and stuff added. when i went, they played this deafeningly loud spanish rap music and i got a headache for almost the rest of my day at playland.
Although I was a little doubtful when I first sat down in the Scrambler car, once things started spinning I thought, "hey, this is kinda cool!" True, the music sucks. But it is a neat experience, and a nice change of environment on a hot summer day. Gives a whole new twist to the Scrambler concept.
An interesting scrambler with some nice special effects and lateral g forces
A scrambler, and then some. The ride has all the fun of a regular scrambler with the bonus of being inside with cool strobe lights, music, and mirrors.
