Crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy! I went on one of the swinging cars last summer, and oh my GOD! This ride could very well be one of the scariest non-coaster rides ever built! The wheel goes around a a slow pace, and stopping every two seat to let people on. As you start moving, your cart start swaying, swaying, swaying... AAAAAAAAH! Your car starts to run along a track that is in a psycotic star-like shape around the wheel, with the ends of the tips curved up, so your car goes up to almost a 90 degree angle for a split second before going back along the same track your car went down before. It is such a rush throught the whole ride! The best part is that they let you go around two times! Yet, it is always over too soon. Go ride this insane ride now! You will NOT be dissapointed!

The Wonder Wheel is a great working example of how "outside the box" old-school Coney was.

Best ferris wheel Ive been on. The still seats provide a great view of the Coney Island boardwalk. The moving seats spooked me out and can really scare first time riders. Great classic Coney Island ride.

I have no problem with them taking you around twice. Its 150 feet tall and in Chicagos Navy Pier you go around once. For those seeking thrills not sights go on the blue and red cars--they swing around.

One of the most unique Ferris Wheel with a combination of stationary and non-stationary cars. The cars are pretty big and spacious for a lot of friends to share. The cost per ride and short duration prevents me from giving it a ten.

Wow what a classic! As much as people dont think of it, Coney Island is the birthplace of the modern amusement park. Two rides in particular- Cyclone and the Wonder Wheel! Wow this thing is fun best wheel ever. Nostalgic too. You can not say you are a true enthusiast until you visit Coney Island. This ride is terrifying in its own way. After all these years, not one accident. Simply incredible.

This was a very odd looking wheel with the real attraction being the swinging/rolling cars. Despite only 2 revolutions, I had a ball riding this wheel. I loved it when the cars rolled over that little bump in the track and your picked up speed like mad. The look of the wheel is interesting as well. The entire wheel seems to be made from iron I and L beams. I always like to refer to this wheel as "I Beams Revenge" because, well, thats what it is! An odd thing about the gondolas is that the seating arangements are all facing in one direction, as opposed to a normal Ferris Wheel gondola where occupants face each other. I seem to also remember chicken wire covering the open areas of the car. Definately an old school way of keeping people from falling out. A cool fact is that the Wonder Wheel is actually a landmark, along with the Cyclone. Its a bit short for the price but its such a unique ride that you cant not ride.

This ride is a perfect example of the old saying, "dont judge a book by its cover" - Ive been on it innumerable times, and its never the same ride twice. Way scarier than youd think - especially on a windy day. I love taking people on the Wonder Wheel for their first ride, and seeing them grab on tight and scream!

This is the best Ferris Wheel ever. My boyfriend got scared and I had to hold his hand. It was fun though. The only problem is that it costs 4 dollars and they only take you around twice.
