I loved this. It was fun and unique. I was expecting one of those stupid movie rides where you sit in front of a screen and your seats rock around a bit... boy was I surprised! I thought it was fun being flipped over and hanging there looking down at the "river".
I agree with theMonster and his review. This was a stupid ride. You cant leave without having bruises. I think it might be park policy. HA HA! I hate the part where you actually lay on the restraints staring down.
Excellent ride! I just loved it! Themeing, effects, everything... Its just a wonderful ride. As a fan, Im almost offended that this is being beaten by Vortex. Fun as Vortex may be, its not exactly a re-ride coaster... Meanwhile, Tomb Raider is just amazing.
EDIT: In 2008, this ride was renamed "The Crypt." All of its special effects are gone, and the ride only flips twice. It deserves a 2, MAYBE a 3 now. Tomb Raider, however, deserves a five.
This is an excellent ride with great special effects. It is also very unique. I do think they leave you hanging upside down a little too long for my tastes, or else I would give it an even higher score. But it is a fun ride and very unique. Too bad they did not pay the money and have Angelina Jolie herself speak to us during the pre-show...
To be honest...this ride was pretty darn fun but it was very short and plus, it wasnt all that comfortable to ride either. Overall I thought the effects were totally kick ass but other than that, the ride itself wasnt the greatest.
This was my first top spin ride, and it was a good one. I think if it had no themeing and was outdoors, it would have not been as good. It almost seemed like it was a little too controled, but the effects were really cool, so that gave it a few points.
Pretty cool version of an ok flat ride.
I think the best part of the ride for me, was not looking into any hype about it, and not even knowing it existed before my Kings Island visit. I walked into this thing thinking it was a moving theatre type ride, similiar to such an innocent ride like Universals Back to the Future, but no, not at all. A complete shock to see the roller coaster restraints, and even more shock during the hanging part. The ride was also themed well, something alot of parks forget about anymore. No complaints, and a good thrill, so it has to get a 10.
Great theming in the que areas. I just wish the cycle of the ride had a few more flips. Dont ride if you dont like beind held upside down for an extended period of time.
A great flat ride. PKI officialy has the best 1, 2 punch of flat rides with this and Delirium. The theming on this ride is superb, the flips are disorienting and fun, and I found the hanging parts to be sensational. The ride didnt quite live up to all the hype PKI was building but once you get passed that, you realize that Tomb Raider is a fabulous ride.
